"Who is she?" Asked Fili as Aleron and I sat down to lunch. Aleron put her hand on her sword hilt.
"Don't talk to her like that!" She snapped. I put my hand on her wrist, stopping her from drawing her sword.
"Relax sis, you know what dwarves are like," I said, rolling my eyes in the direction of the dwarves. Aleron let out a snort of laughter.
"Something funny?" Snarled Dwalin. Aleron and I looked at each other, before bursting out in fits of laughter.
"Bloody Elves," I heard Gloin mutter under his breath. I looked over at Thorin, who had a smirk on his face. I opened my mouth to speak but Aleron elbowed me in the ribs to point something out, not realising I was injured. I swore loudly in elvish, causing a few nearby elves to stare at me disapprovingly. I turned around, albeit painfully, to stare back at the elves. Then, Aleron turned too and remarked:
"Back to your knitting ladies, there's nothing to see here." At this point, everyone burst out laughing, especially the dwarves. I turned back to the table, grimacing and rubbing my side painfully.
"Should've let me patch you up lass," said Oin. Aleron looked at me quizzically. I quickly explained how I had been bitten in the side by a warg. When I finished, Aleron looked surprised.
"Hang on one second," she said "You, saved the life of a dwarf?" I nodded.
"Well I was hardly going to let him get eaten was I?" I said in my defence.
"And I'm thankful she didn't let me get eaten," said Thorin "Because I don't know about you but I'd rather not be a wargs lunchtime snack." Everyone chuckled at this point.
"Who are you and what have you done with Eleana?" Said Aleron.
"What?" I said "I save the life of a dwarf and get used as a chew toy by a warg, is that any different from normal?"
"You weren't normal to begin with anyway!" Laughed Aleron.
"At least we have something in common there then!" I remarked.
"Oi!" Said Aleron, hitting me playfully. Of course, even a playful hit hurt, so that caused me to swear again, just a little less loudly.
"Christ Aleron, be gentle with me," I said, trying to laugh the pain off. Aleron just shook her head and rolled her eyes dramatically.
"Honestly, what am I going to do with you," she sighed. I rolled my eyes at her and carried on eating.

It was nice to have Aleron back, I hadn't seen her in many years. Of course, Thorin was a little edgy because he was worried about Aleron discovering our secret. I had to admit, I was a bit worried myself because Aleron knew me too well. How long would it be until she found out?

I was walking along one of the many hallways of Rivendell when Thorin came around a corner.
"Master Oakenshield," I said with a mock curtsey.
"Miss Eleana," he said, bowing. We looked into each others eyes for a split second before laughing. We walked alongside one another for a good while, talking and talking about anything and everything. After a while, we came to a little balcony. I went out onto it, surveying the valley and all its beauty. Thorin came and stood beside me, his hand snaking its way around my waist. We stood there for a little awhile, not speaking. I put my arm around his shoulders, my eyes finally breaking away from the view of the valley. Thorin looked up at me, smiling kindly. We stared into each others eyes. We couldn't find any words to say for it felt as if there was nothing left to say. Suddenly, we heard footsteps coming so we broke away from each other.
"My lady," said Thorin, before bowing respectfully and walking away. As soon as he had disappeared from sight, I went back to looking out across the valley. I heard a quiet cough from behind me.
"You can come out now Aleron," I sighed, turning around. Aleron appeared out of the shadows, smirking.
"Now everything becomes clear," she said. I sighed.
"Don't tell me you saw all that," I groaned. Aleron grinned widely.
"You bet I did." I groaned and turned to look at the valley again, biting my lip nervously. I felt tears forming at the corners of my eyes, Thorin was going to be furious. We had been careless. Aleron came and stood next to me, seeing how upset I was.
"I was going to tell you, I just..." I began. Aleron interrupted me by shushing me.
"It's okay, I don't mind," she said "It's not like I can do anything to stop you." I laughed weakly, wiping the tears from the corners of my eyes.
"Anyway, I've got some news of my own," she said. I turned to look at her.
"What is it?" I asked. Aleron smiled and looked away from me, clearly not wanting to meet my gaze.
"It is wrong that I like one of the dwarves myself?" She said. I laughed, not mockingly but more like I was happy for her, which I was.
"Who?" I asked.
"I can't remember his name. Tall like Thorin, dark hair, not much of a beard, brown eyes," she said. I wave of recognition hit me.
"Kili!" I squealed. Aleron laughed.
"Yes, I like Kili," she said. The two of us hugged each other happily.
"I won't tell him just yet," Aleron said "I've only just met the guy for crying out loud!" We both laughed.
"Well, if it helps at all, Thorin and I hated each other at the start," I said truthfully. Aleron laughed.
"Really?!" She squealed. I nodded.
"Yes, Thorin and I hated each other," I sighed.
"Have you kissed?" Asked Aleron excitedly. My mind flashed back to outside the troll hoard and up in my room yesterday. I blushed.
"You have, haven't you!" Said Aleron. I nodded.
"Yes! Oh, I'm so happy for you!" She laughed, beginning to dance around happily.
"Did you know Kili and Thorin are related?" I said, changing the subject.
"Are they?" Said Aleron, sounding a little surprised.
"Thorin is Kili's uncle," I said. Aleron smiled.
"Well, you learn something new every day," she said. I nodded in agreement.
"Someone say my name?" Asked a voice behind us. We both turned to see who it was. Thorin was back.
"Um, no?" I lied unconvincingly. A smirk appeared on Thorin's face. I felt Aleron staring at me.
"She knows," I said finally. Surprisingly, Thorin didn't appear angry in the slightest. To be honest, he seemed quite happy about it.
"How many people know?" Asked Aleron.
"Four," I said "Me, Thorin, You and Balin."
"Balin?" Aleron queried.
"Older dwarf," said Thorin "Big white beard and red robes."
"Oh right," said Aleron "I thought he looked like Father Christmas." It was silent for a few seconds before all three of us burst into fits of hopeless laughter. I had to hold onto the rail to stay standing while Thorin was bent double, his deep laughter contrasting with my high one.
"Father Christmas!" I gasped between laughs "Good one Aleron!" Thorin was still laughing.
"I haven't heard that one before!" He exclaimed, chuckling still. We all took a moment to regain our breath before Thorin spoke.
"Speaking of relations," he said "Are you two sisters because I heard you call her 'sis' earlier." I shook my head.
"No," I said "Though we act like it, we aren't real sisters. We are sisters by bond, not blood."
Thorin smiled.
"Anyway," said Aleron "It's getting late."
"Yes it is," agreed Thorin.
"G'night then," said Aleron before disappearing into the dark. Thorin turned to look at me.
"Good night, Thorin," I said.
"Good night, Eleana."
We kissed briefly before going our separate ways for the night.
