Erens POV

The night passed numbly, thoughts of Levi swarming my mind. He looked so broken when I last saw him, like he had seen a ghost, surly, he had never killed someone before, so what was it that made him so deathly?

Thoughts plagued my brain, preventing sleep from taking over my body. Minutes of darkness passed into hours to the point I couldn't take it anymore. I rolled out of bed and padded across the room in bare feet to my office. I sat down at the small desk and started writing.

After about another hour I had finished yet another song. I had called it 'Plague of Thoughts' though odds are if this song reached the world, they will edit the lyrics and title to make it more... easy to listen to. Most of my music was so honest to the truth of my life, the editors found it to harsh to be made public. I didn't really mind because they still managed to get the point across. I shoved the scribbled on piece of paper in the drawer with a few others that I had recently written.

I walked over to the window and stared into the night sky. I would be able to go outside without it being painful right now. It was against the rules, but where would the fun be if it was aloud? I went to my closet and pulled on a pair of baggy grey track pant and a black hoodie over my old Green Day t-shirt. I slipped my vans on and pressed the button on the elevator.

Not many people should still be running around at, I looked at my phone, 12:17. The elevator opened.

Empty, nice.

I got in and pressed the lobby button. Soft music played from the elevators speakers.

When the doors opened, I peeked out. Two security guards. I prepared myself to run. I darted instantaneously through the revolving doors, leaving them spinning ominously in my wake, and luckily, they weren't making chase. I grinned and slowed my speed down to walking.

I took a deep breath in. Night air was the most amazing thing to me right now, crisp and cool. I looked up at the moon. It was so beautiful, the stars around it just complimented it even more. The sky around it the perfect balance between black and blue. I kept walking.

I had no destination in mind so I just let my feet take me wherever they wanted to go. I passed some familiar looking buildings, though I didn't know why exactly they were familiar. It soon came to me.

My feet stopped. And I recognized where I was.

I was standing in front of a small building with big windows along the front letting the golden light from inside pour onto the road. There was an old white and dark blue door that led inside. I placed my hand on the brass handle and opened it. Obnoxious sounds of drunk people laughing and cat-calling made way to my ears. I looked over to the back of the room and saw what I really came for.

The black haired man stood behind the bar with a rag in hand making small talk with a guy who was sniffing a drink in front of him. I remembered his name from the night I worked here with Levi. Mike I think it was. Levi still hasn't noticed me, so I took this as my chance to observe him in his natural environment instead of making him act as he would around me. I pulled the hood of my sweater over my brown streaked hair. I walked deeper into the bar, almost getting knocked over by this pair of people who were dancing energetically across the polished hard wood floor.

I took a stool at the end of the bar, away from the commotion of drunkards. I kept my head down as I heard footsteps approach me.

"Can I get you something?" He said smoothly. It would be odd if I said no, I was at a bar after all.

I cleared my throat.

"Yes, could I just have a beer please" I said in a voice deeper than normal.

"Any preferred brand?" He asked while wiping down a shot glass in front of me.

"No" I said simply. He left for a few seconds than came back with a glass of light liquid. He crouched down in front of me. He pointed to the bubbly drink in front of me.

"By the way, that my friend is Ginger Ale, prime beer in my standards" He said with a straight face. I would have given him a sharp glance, but I didn't want my identity to be found out.

"I know your not legal age, so enjoy" He said with a humorous undertone in his voice. Than he did something I didn't expect. He walked around and sat beside me.

"Why did you come here? Trouble at home?" he said with concern in his voice. I felt a weight of emotion in my chest that I could not describe.

"Something like that" I mumbled quietly. He glanced at me with something like sadness. He put his hand on my shoulder.

"If you want, I could find you a place to stay for the night" He said kindly,

"A hotel room or something?"He continued with genuine sincerity placed over his face. I felt a tear run down my face. If only someone was around like him when I needed it. If I had this, I could've had time to get back on my feet, find a good job before bills needed to be payed, instead of being forced to jump to what I did.

"Hey kid, look at me" Levi said gently, placing two fingers on my chin and bringing my face into view. His eyes widened.

"Eren?" He said quietly. I nodded, causing the tear to crawl down my chin and land on his finger.

"Why are you here?" Levi said quietly, looking away from my eyes.

"Couldn't sleep" I said softly, not being able to bring myself to look away from him. He stuck the rag he was holding in his vest pocket.

"Yeah, but why did you come here?" He said, I honestly thought he would say I was out past curfew and needed to go back, but instead he said this.

"I honestly didn't mean to" I said, I saw a sharp bit of hurt flash through his blue-grey eyes. I couldn't stand that. I added a bit more with sincerity.

"My feet just automatically brought me here" I said quietly, looking down at my pale hands in embarrassment. I saw Levi's eyes widen the slightest bit before they returned to their regular size.

"Eren, I-" he started to say, but I stood up, knowing that he was going to kick me out.

"I'll go now, don't worry about it" I pulled five dollars out of my pocket and stuck it on the counter to pay for the drink that I didn't touch.

I walked out of the bar with my face flushed in embarrassment.

Little did I know that Levis eyes followed me longingly until I was out of sight.
