Erens POV

I slid into the dark room and head into the corner carefully, trying not to make any boards squeak. The soft clinking of glasses and chatter could be heard softly as I gingerly picked up the clunky metal device called ODM gear.

I struggled with the straps a bit before sliding it easily over my legs. I sighed in relief as I came out of the window and shut it behind me.

"Lets do this"

I glided effortlessly through the one sided glass buildings of the city with a grin on my face that hadn't faded once.

I would never get bored of this. Flight was indescribable, it was a cold rush of adrenaline that left you grinning and windburned. The exhilaration was incredibly addictive. I couldn't get enough of it.

I swung excitedly with the duffel bag to the place Levi and I vandalized last time. The statue in the centre. It must have been cleaned by the city cleanup crew, because the stone gleamed white and boring in the comfortable moonlight. I grinned.

Time to make this statue exciting again.

Though I couldn't help but feel that something was missing, and as much as I wanted to deny it, I knew exactly what it was.

Levi.

Even though things seemed a little bit awkward between us right now, I couldn't help but feel that he belonged here beside me. His face sparkling with a grin, silver eyes gleaming happily in the moonlight.

But he wasn't here. He wasn't smiling. His beautiful eyes weren't sparkling.
And he was missing.

The only thing that could complete the picture was gone. And I needed it to be complete. Though I couldn't just go and grab him. So I improvised.

I reached down to where the black duffel bag rest at my feet. I unzipped the dark opening and pulled out a colour called 'Pearl White'. The perfect colour.

I shook the can and pressed the nozzle, aiming it closely at the statue for thin and accurate lines. For an outline. After I was done, I filled it in with the same colour, concentrating it in some areas for shading and depth, I also added some grey, also for a shading purpose.

I than pulled the two cans of black because one was almost empty from our last escapade. I started using the almost empty one, bringing it in straight strokes curving gently over the top of my 'pearl white' outline. I also added some grey for highlights. It gave the black a shiny look, a gleam if you will.

What I was doing was foolish and reckless. But you know what? I was past the point of caring.

I continued, working on smaller features to complete the picture I was trying to paint.

I backed up. Admiring my work. I had small dots of colour on my hands and the front of my shirt. But I barely noticed. I was to busy getting lost in the eyes of my work, almost as if the real deal were actually here. It was so beautiful, I knew I needed to sign my work, I needed acknowledgment for my work. It was breathtaking.

Levi was breathtaking.

I quickly grabbed a colour that was the same as my eyes and hastily scribbled my name at the base of Levis collarbones. I didn't paint the lower half of his body, but I also didn't give him a shirt so it gave the appearance that the rest was also unclothed.

Ha, I wish.

Shutup.

I stuffed the assortment of cans that were scattered around the base of the statue and placed them back in the black bag with a clinking sound.

I slung the bag over my shoulders and checked the ODM gear before clicking the trigger and sending me flying away from the Levi labeled with my street name.

Humanities Last Hope

I didn't know what to do with the ODM gear, Levi was probably sleeping by now, so what the hell was I supposed to do?

I had an idea. But it was insane.

I made my way to the Scout Regiment HQ and looked up. All 23 stories up to my floor. There was an openable window right by the living room so maybe if I grappled my way up I could open it with my access card? I don't know if this will work and its probably really dangerous, but its not like I can go in the main entrance.

Just imagine. Eren Jaeger waltzing into the foyer where about 20 security guards are just chillin'. They see Eren and notice an odd contraption hanging from his hips. Not to mention the fact that he is about 3 hours after curfew. Too many questions would be asked and Levi would get notice. And that was something that I couldn't have.

So the main doors were out of the question. The only logical way in was up, and it wasn't even that logical.

I took a deep breath and tightened my grip on the trigger handles right before squeezing and feeling the familiar jolt as the hook shot from the compartments at my waist. I had to aim very carefully so that the hooks didn't hit the glass and just bounce off. I had to make sure that I hit the concrete cross beams in order for me to get out of this in one piece.

My first shot sailed and landed perfectly on the second floor crossbeam... lucky me. I was pulled towards the beam with the force of the cords pulling me in. I landed with a bit more force than I would have liked, but I did it successfully.

I let out a sigh of relief that was lost in the cool night wind that swirled excitedly around me, giving my cheeks the red dusting of windburn.

I readied myself for the next shot. My hand shook a little from both adrenaline and hunger. I hadn't noticed it before but it ripped violently at my stomach. I moaned. The craving for blood I had now was a shock. I hadn't had anything like it since my first month. Shit. My hands were shaking too much.

There was no way I would be able to take the shot. I looked at my reflection in the one sided glass that made the building I was clinging to.

Red eyes and sharp teeth. I needed to eat, and I couldn't get inside in this condition. My water bottle was empty where it jingled with the paint cans in the bag on my shoulder.

I considered calling Erwin, but he was probably sleeping and would get extremely pissed at me for being out after curfew.

I was left with no other choice.
