Zayn's Pov:

Everyone has a darkness inside of them, A darkness that they just can't escape no matter how hard they try it's always there. It's a side of you that you don't want people to see, But some people do see past it, Some people see past the act of I'm ok, The person who saw past mine is the boy I've fallen hopelessly inlove with, My best friend, Niall Horan. Niall he knew I had problems, He knew I had apart of me that I was ashamed of, He told me he was here, That no matter what he'll be there and support me, But my past will always be looming over me, The fear of going back to the way I was is always there, A sigh left my lips as I pictured that place, The place where I suffered for so long.

"Hey what you thinking about?" Niall questioned as he wrapped his arms around me, Another sigh left my lips.

"My past" I whispered, Niall sighed loudly.

"Zayn we've spoken about this, Your past is your past, All that matters is the here and the now, Your getting so much better focus on that and the future" Niall stated.

"I just can't help but feel that it's always going to be here, The temptation, That darkness I couldn't escape, It's always going to hang over me no matter what I do" I mumbled, Niall sighed before sitting beside me.

"The darkness will only stay if you let it, Zayn your a recovering alcoholic just because you've made mistakes in your past that dosen't mean your future will be the same" Niall stated, I shook my head.

"But what if I relapse and go back to it? Because there's always a chance I might" I mumbled.

"You won't Zayn, You've been so strong, You've always been strong" Niall stated, I shook my head.

"You wasn't there the whole time Niall" I said, Niall rolled his eyes.

"No of course I wasn't, I was just the person picking you up out the gutters, Cleaning the floor after you chucked your insides up, Dragging you to the hospital then waiting there to find out what damage you've done to your body, Do you have any idea how scared I was thinking they could turn around and say you've damaged your liver! Coming to get you at a ridiculous time because your to drunk to find your way home" Niall stated, I lowered my head.

"You know I didn't mean it like that" I exclaimed.

"Stop pushing me away Zayn!"

"I'm sorry!" I mumbled as Niall continued speaking.

"What have I gotta do to make you see that no matter how much you push I'm not going anywhere, Whatever I have to do to make you better I'll do, Just talk to me don't shut me out like this" Niall pleaded.

"Those days, The days I'd disappear for hours and you wouldn't know where I was, I'd go to this abandoned house, People would be dealing drugs there, They'd be throwing there life away because they know there's no way out"

"Your not one of those people Zayn you never were!" Niall exclaimed.

"The things I saw, I was so scared Niall,  But I couldn't bring myself to run away because I felt like I belonged there, That I deserved the fear" I whispered, Niall shook his head.

"You didn't feel like that Zi, The drink made you feel like it, It clouded your mind" Niall stated as he took hold of my hand, I could feel the tears falling down my face. 

"I didn't feel like anyone could save me, Everyone gave up on me, Everyone apart from you, You gave me that small bit of hope that I still hold onto even now, I don't deserve your love Ni I never have, I couldn't understand why you'd love me, I still don't" I exclaimed, Niall pulled me against him tightly. 

"You wanna know why I love you?" Niall asked, I nodded my head slowly. "Because your you, When we first met you never pretended to be anything you were just you, All the times I needed you you were there no questions asked, You have one of the biggest and most kindest hearts, You always managed to make me laugh, Yeah some of the jokes you told didn't make sense but the way you would scrunch up your face when you laughed made me wanna join in, Your so special Zayn, I love you so much and I know that one day you'll be who you was again, I love you because your everything to me, If I lost you I'd have nothing but darkness in my life,Your my everything Zayn" Niall explained, A small smile spread across my face. 

"You really believe that?" I questioned, Niall nodded his head as he stroked my hair back, I closed my eyes enjoying the touch. 

"I can't do this on my own" I whispered.

"Your not on your own, I promise" Niall assured me. 

"Can you still love me? Even with my past?" I asked, Niall smiled at me.

"I've loved you since the very start and I'll love you through anything Zi, I'm here to stay Zayn" Niall stated.

"Promise?" I whispered.

"I promise" Niall stated as he pressed a gentle kiss to my lips.

"I love you so much" I whispered against Niall's lips, I felt him smile.

"I love you too" Niall replied before pulling me into a tight embrace, For a long time I was allowing darkness to over take my life, I was always looking back and never forward, I know I'll have bad days when I'll feel like giving up but I won't, I won't because I've found a reason to fight back, I've found the light that's going to save me from the darkness, That light is Niall and his love.
