Jacob walked into Connie's office startling her so much that she almost jumped out of her seat.
"You alright?" he asked.
"Hmm, yes thank you. You just startled me, can I help you Staff Nurse Masters?" she replied.
"Yeah I need you to sign your patient's discharge forms" he said as he neared her desk.
Connie quickly closed down the tab she had open on her computer and smiled up at him nervously as she took the discharge forms.
"Looking at something you shouldn't Mrs B?" he grinned at her.
"No, not at all" she stuttered.
"What's going on Connie?" he asked as he eyed her suspiciously.
"And don't say nothing because you're never this jumpy, and I've known you long enough now to know that there's something" he added.
Connie sighed, "lock the door" she said.

Jacob locked the door and sat down on her couch as she made her way over to sit next to him.
"You can't tell anyone, it's not that it's a big deal per say but I just don't want anyone gossiping ok?" she said.
"Course I won't say anything, what's going on?" he asked.
"I want another child, and Grace wants a little brother or sister so that's what I'm trying to give her" Connie told him.
"So you were looking into adoption?" Jacob said but Connie shook her head.
"Last time I was pregnant things went wrong and I never really got the full experience of it. I want that experience, so I'm looking into sperm donation" she explained nervously.
"Well good for you Connie, if that's what you want then go for it" he said.
"You don't think it's mad?" She asked.
"No, anyway loads of people do it" he replied.

"I'm just worried, I know most places screen donations but I'm just worried that something might be missed, or something might get messed up. What if the donors an axe murder and I don't know? Or what if the child hates me for never giving them a chance to have a dad?" She said, panicking slightly.
Jacob smiled sympathetically and pulled her into a hug, "you carry the same risk with knowing the father of your child, they could have underlying medical conditions too. And would it really matter? As long as you loved the baby no matter what? Then with the dad thing, you're a fantastic mum! What else could the child need? Grace doesn't really see her dad and she's doing just fine!" he said.
Connie nodded and smiled slightly before resting her head on his chest, "I suppose you're right, maybe I should just go for it" she said.
"See there's the Connie Beauchamp I know, not letting anything stand in her way" he grinned.

She smiled and stayed rested on his chest in a comfortable silence for a while until he spoke up again.
"What if it was me?" he asked.
"Huh? What if what was you?" she asked in confusion.
"The baby's dad, biologically. What if I was your donor?" he suggested.
Connie pulled away and stared at him in shock, "you want to have a baby with me?" she asked.
"Well yeah I suppose when you put it like that. It would all be on your terms, obviously I'd want contact with the baby and want him or her to know who I was but you'd have custody and I'd never try to take that away from you. We don't even have to do it the conventional way of getting you pregnant, we can still to artificially if you'd feel more comfortable that way. I'm sorry this is completely crazy" he said.
"No, no, it's not crazy at all" she told him.
"Really? In that case, is it a yes?" he asked.
