The following night Jacob arrived at Connie's after Grace was in bed.
She let him in then he sat down on the couch next to her.
"So how did you date go yesterday?" she asked him.
"Yeah it was good, seeing her again tomorrow. But I don't want you to think it'll stop us trying, she doesn't know anything and it's only a second date" he replied.
"We don't need to try anymore. I'm almost ten weeks pregnant" Connie told him.
"Really? Wow that's great Con!" he said happily.
"Yeah it is. I've told Grace, she knows it's yours but she's not going to say anything to anyone and I'd appreciate it if you didn't either. I don't want to make an announcement about being pregnant, people can work it out for themselves, and since you're dating someone we should probably keep it quiet until you decide to tell her" she said.
"Oh yeah, yeah course" he said.

Jacob sat there for a few minutes not really sure what to say next.
"Thank you, for everything you've done" Connie spoke up.
"Best you've ever had sweetcheeks?" he smirked at her.
"Yes but that's besides the point. You've given me a baby, I could of just gone to a sperm back and got an anonymous father but instead you're giving the child a chance to know who it's daddy is" she explained.
"Yeah well like I said you're a great mum and I want the chance to be a dad so it works out best for both of us" Jacob said.
"Yes I suppose it does" Connie agreed.
"Anyway I should probably get home now, just call me if you need anything" Jacob said as he stood up.

"I'll show you out" Connie said as she stood up too then followed him to the door.
"Night sweetcheeks" he said whilst opening the door.
"Night Jacob" she replied with a small smile.
He looked down at her then grabbed her by the waist pulling her closer before pressing his lips to hers.
Connie's arms went round his neck and he pulled her closer practically off the floor as their tongues roamed each other's mouths.
Jacob pulled away for air and stroked her cheek, "one last time?" he asked.
Connie nodded then kissed him again as he picked her up and carried her up to her bedroom.

Connie woke the next morning with a smile on her face and nuzzled into Jacob's bare chest only to jump out of bed when a wave of nausea came over.
She ran to the bathroom with Jacob not far behind her.
She kneeled infront of the toilet and began vomiting into it as Jacob started rubbing her back.
"Jacob you can go, watching me vomit was never part of the arrangement" she said as she lent over the bowl.
"Connie I told you I'd be here for you and I will" he said.
"Well I don't want you here right now ok? I don't like people seeing me ill, please just go" Connie told him a little harsher than she had intended.
He shook his head and walked out, "falling in love with you was never part of the arrangement either but I still did that" he muttered under his breath.

Connie came out of the bathroom just as he was walking out, "I'll see you in work later" he said.
"Jacob I'm sorry for snapping" she said but he had already walked out.
Grace left her bedroom as Jacob walked out then she ran to him and hugged him.
"Did you forget your keys again?" she giggled.
"Something like that, look your mum isn't feeling very well because of the baby. Can you look after her for me princess?" Jacob said.
"Yeah I can, I'm going to be a surgeon like her so I'm great at looking after people! When did she tell you about the baby?" Grace replied.
"Oh I'm sure you are. Your mum told me about the baby last night and I'm very excited. I need to be getting home and ready for work now but I'll see you soon ok?" he said.
"Ok, bye Jacob!" Grace said happily as he walked down the stairs.
