Jacob rang Connie the next morning just after her and Grace had finished breakfast.
"Hey" she said as she answered her phone.
"Hey, I forgot to say last night, would you like a hand with the nursery? I could come round today and help you make a start if you like, not long now" he said.
"I'd like that, thank you Jacob" Connie replied.
"Alright, see you in twenty?" he asked.
"Yes, thank you" Connie said before ending the call.

"What did Jacob want? Did he call to tell you he loves you?" Grace giggled.
"No Grace he called to say he was going to come over to help with the nursery. Go and get dressed please so we can go to the shop soon to buy baby things" Connie replied.
Grace nodded and went upstairs to get changed whilst Connie sat in the kitchen drinking her coffee and waiting for Jacob.
He arrived twenty minutes later just like he said he would.
Connie let him in and began making another cup of Coffee when he snaked his arms around her waist and rested his hands on her bump.

"How's my little boy doing today?" he asked.
"Kicking the hell out of mummy" Connie replied.
Jacob grinned then lent over and kissed her cheek, "so what are you thinking for the nursery?" he asked.
"Blue walls, a white crib, mobile, rocking chair, changing table in white, Noah painted about his crib in gold with starts surrounding it, blue curtains" Connie said.
"It sounds beautiful sweetcheeks" Jacob grinned at her.
Connie turned around and smiled at him before resting her on his chest.
Jacob smiled at the contact and began stroking her hair as Grace bounded into the room.

"Hey Jacob!" she said before noticing how they were stood.
"Hey princess" Jacob said with a small smile without letting go of Connie.
"Are we going shopping?" Grace asked.
"Yeah we are" he replied.
"But shoppings boring, can I go to grandmas?" she said.
"I suppose I could ring her, then tomorrow I'll take you to get a DNA test done to check you are my daughter" Connie said without moving from Jacob.
"Err why?" Grace asked in confusion.
"You said shopping is boring!" Connie laughed.
"Well baby shopping is, I don't know what babies like. I'll ring grandma and ask her" Grace said before running to get the phone.

She came back in a few minutes later on the phone to Audrey, "can you drop me off on the way to the shops please?" she asked.
"Course we can" Jacob grinned.
"Thanks! Yeah gran they can" Grace said as she wondered off into the other room to get her shoes and coat.
"Ready to go sweetcheeks?" Jacob asked Connie.
"In a minute, Noah's settled down like this, I think he knows you're here" she said with a smile.
Jacob grinned and slipped his hand inbetween their bodies and placed it on her stomach, "daddy's boy today" he grinned.

They left ten minutes later then dropped Grace off at Audrey's before heading to the shopping centre.
"Connie can I ask you a question?" Jacob said as they got out of the car.
"Sure" Connie replied.
"Why the hell are you wearing heels? You're twenty eight weeks pregnant and we are only at the shopping centre" he said with a smirk.
"I like them, they make me feel tall instead of small and frumpy" she said.
"Sweetcheeks you may be small without them but you are in no way frumpy. You're pregnant with our son and you look beautiful" Jacob told her as he wrapped his arm around her waist.

Connie smiled and walked with him to Mothercare.
They looked around, starting with cribs. Connie chose a round white crib with blue draps hanging from the bottom to the floor.
"What are you doing about a nursery in your house?" Connie asked Jacob.
"I'm leaving it for a while, I don't expect Noah to be staying with me for a while. You both need each other especially at first, I'll have him when you're ready to have nights away from him" he replied.
"Thank you Jacob, if you ever want to spend the night with him when he's first born you can stay over at mine whenever you like" Connie said.
"I'd like" he grinned.

They spent an hour or so in mother care ordering the crib, changing table, a  rocking chair, pram and car seat to be delivered, then buying bedding, rugs, toys, clothes, changing mats, a mobile, bottles, nappies and blankets.
"Lunch and something to drink before we get the paint?" Jacob suggested.
"Yes please" Connie replied.
They went to Costa where Jacob insisted on paying for lunch and coffee then they sat down next to each other on one of the couches.

Connie finished eating and relaxed against him, "today's been lovely Jacob" she smiled.
"Yeah it has, should we go and get the paint?" he smiled.
"Yes then we can get started on the painting" Connie said.
"Err no. I can get started on the painting. Fumes aren't good for the baby" Jacob told her.
"So what am I supposed to do for the rest of the day?" she asked.
"Stand around and look beautiful" he suggested.
"Can't you just get me one of them masks to put on so I don't inhale anything?" Connie said.
"I suppose, come on" he grinned.

They arrived back at Connie's an hour later with blue and white paint, dust sheets and a mask for Connie.
The room had already been cleared so Jacob put down the dust sheets and they began painting once Connie had changed into tracksuit bottoms and a vest top.
He smirked watching her paint the wall then wrapped his arms around her waist.
"What are you doing?" she asked as she turned around.
"Lift up your top" he grinned as he took a small step back.
Connie laughed and lifted her top up to just about her bump wondering what he was doing.

Jacob took the paint brush and painted a large smiley face on her bump causing her to giggle.
"You spontaneous idiot!" she laughed.
"It's cute" he grinned at her.
"Hmm if you say so, now can we get on with painting this?" she asked.
"Course Queen Bee" he grinned.
