Part 9

Connie was sat in her office a few hours later when there was a knock on the door.
"Come in" she said without looking up.
"Hi, I'm Layla. I'm looking for Jacob Masters, I thought you might know where he is since you're clinical Lead" Layla said as she walked in.
Connie looked up and put on a fake smile, "he's working. Because that is what he's paid to do" she said but was proved wrong when Jacob walked into her office.
"Connie can we... Layla what are you doing here?" he asked.
"I was looking for you, this is Connie? You're pregnant with Jacob's baby?" she said.
"I'm pregnant with my baby. No one else's. Both of you get out of my office now" Connie said sternly.
"Connie calm down" Jacob said.
"No! I want to go home so get out of my office!" she practically screamed alerting many of the staff.

Jacob grabbed Layla's hand and pulled her outside of Connie's office.
She grabbed her coat and bag then left her office slamming the door behind her and storming past Layla and Jacob.
"Connie please" Jacob shouted after her.
"Leave me alone Staff Nurse Masters!" She shouted back.
Jacob sighed then went to get changed before heading home with Layla.
Connie went straight home and picked up her phone ringing Michael Spence whilst ignoring Jacob's calls.

Jacob came round to Connie's a few hours later.
She opened the door wearing just a small silk robe then Jacob noticed Michael walking across her hall in just his boxers.
"Connie?" Jacob asked with a raised eyebrow.
"I'm allowed to date too Jacob, just because I'm the pregnant one doesn't mean I can't have a life too" Connie said.
"Date? Yeah sure that's what it is" he said sarcastically.
"Leave me alone Jacob!" She shouted at him before slamming the door.

Jacob had been sat in his car outside Connie's house for ten minutes when Michael left.
He waited till he had driven away then walked up Connie's path.
She hadn't locked the door so he quietly let himself in and wandered around the house.
He went upstairs and heard sniffling from the bedroom so opened the door slowly.
Connie was lying on the bed that had been completely stripped so all the bedding was on the floor.
"Connie what's wrong?" he asked.
"I can't tell you" she sniffled.
"Yes you can, I promise it'll be ok" Jacob said as he sat down next to her.

"I called Michael over because I needed company, not for anything else, Grace is staying at a friends house. I was just feeling lonely so we watched a movie and ate pizza but then he started getting weird and before I knew it he was on top of me. I said no and I tried to push him off but he said he'd hurt the baby. He took me upstairs and raped me" Connie sobbed.
Jacob pulled her into his arms and held her close, "shh it's ok. You're safe now, no one can hurt you, no one can hurt our baby" he whispered.
Connie cuddled into him and cried as he rubbed her back, "I feel so stupid, I shouldn't of invited him over" she cried.
"Woah sweetcheeks it was not your fault, you trusted him" Jacob said as he stroked her cheek.

Connie eventually stopped crying as Jacob stroked her hair and held her close.
"You can go home to Layla, you don't have to be here with me" she said.
"I'm not going anywhere Con, anyway Layla's not staying over tonight. I want to stay here with you tonight and make sure you're ok" Jacob replied.
"Can we sleep in my guest room please? I don't want to sleep in here" she sniffled.
"Course we can, come on" he said as he helped her off the bed.
They walked into her guest room then Jacob stripped down his boxers before climbing into bed with her.

Connie felt slightly awkward since he was with Layla and wasn't sure who close to him she could lie but he wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her into his chest whilst they both rested their hands on her tiny bump.
"Night beautiful" he whispered before kissing her forehead.
Connie was shocked but smiled slightly, "night muscles" she replied.
