Connie sat at home on the couch feeding Noah as Maya laid sleeping in the Moses basket next to her.
Jacob walked in after his shift and sat down next to her, "I can't believe our baby boy is four months old today" he grinned.
"Me neither" Connie smiled, "how was work?" she added.
"The usual, but don't worry, your department is still standing" Jacob laughed.
"I'd hope so" she replied then stood up and put Noah into his Moses basket too.
Jacob put his arm around her shoulder then she rested her head on his, "I missed you" she said.
"I missed you too sweetcheeks" Jacob replied.

She pulled a blanket up over them and snuggled in as he began stroking her hair.
"You ok?" he asked gently.
"Hmm" Connie mumbled in response.
"Baby? What's wrong?" Jacob asked again.
"It's just me and them. You're in work, Grace is in school. It sounds stupid but it's like there's no one to talk to. I sit here all day talking to Noah and Maya sounding like an idiot making stupid noises and getting no response. I change 10 nappies, spend half the day feeding them then the minute I sit down to eat or rest one of them starts crying. It's like an endless cycle. Don't get me wrong, I love them to pieces but I need adult conversation and company. I know you've only just gone back to work but, do you think you could get some time off?" she explained.

"Hey, of course I'll get some time off baby. I'm sorry I went back so soon. How about me, you, Maya and Noah have some days out? We could take them to the beach for the first time? The zoo for the first time? Take them to pick and take Grace to school. Little day trips so we can watch them grow, and be together so you aren't driven completely out of your mind?" Jacob suggested.
Connie nodded and smiled, "I'd like that, thank you Jacob" she said.
"You don't need to thank me sweetcheeks, not at all" he said gently before kissing her cheek.

The next morning, after a phone call from Rita ending with Jacob taking some time off, he and Connie got Noah and Maya ready before taking Grace to school.
"Beach today?" Jacob asked as they got back into the car.
Connie smiled and nodded, resting her hand on his thigh as he drove.
Jacob pulled up at the beach then got out a picnic basket and blanket whilst Connie got the babies out in their car seats.
They walked on to the sand, the beach not having anyone else there.
Jacob put down the blanket then he and Connie stripped down to their beach wear before they sat down, lifting Maya and Noah from their car seats.

"Hey baby boy" Connie cooed in a baby voice at Noah who giggled in response and shook his rattle.
"Hmm I see what you mean about the baby talk" Jacob chuckled.
Connie laughed and swatted his arm, "you see what motherhood has done to me again?" she said.
"It's cute, you're an amazing mum, and beautiful" Jacob grinned.
Connie smiled and held Noah up so he was weight baring on his legs but wasn't standing on his own.
"Your daddy's a smooth talker isn't he little one" she laughed before rubbing her nose against his causing him to giggle again.
Jacob laughed and held Maya in the same position who held her teddy, sucking on the ear of it.

Noah patted Connie's face with his free hand whilst shaking his rattle with the other.
Connie smiled and laid down on her back, lifting Noah up so he was in the air above her.
He squealed happily and kicked his legs as Jacob laid down next to Connie and held Maya up in the same position.
He lent over and kissed Connie's cheek as the babies carried on giggling away.
"This is perfect" she smiled, bringing Noah back down so he was lying on her chest.
She kissed the top of his head then pulled a soft blanket over him as she stroked his hair, Noah lying there smiling and shaking his rattle very gently.
"Jay?" Connie said softly.
"Yeah baby?" Jacob replied.
"I love you" she told him.
"I love you too beautiful" he grinned.
