Connie ignored Grace and followed her up the stairs, narrowly catching the door just before she managed to slam it.
"What was all that about?" Connie asked.
"You don't see it do you?" Grace asked sadly as she sat down on the bed.
"No, no Grace I don't. So you tell me, what don't I see?" Connie said.
Grace looked up at her, "Jacob MASTERS. Noah MASTERS. Maya MASTERS. Connie MASTERS. Sam STRACHAN. Emma STRACHAN. Their baby, STRACHAN. Then there's me... Grace BEAUCHAMP. Do you see it now? I don't fit, I don't fit into either of the perfect little family's! I'm the only one with that name and it's not fair!" she said.
"Grace, sweetheart, I had no idea you felt that way" Connie said.
"But I do, it was ok, I accepted that Maya and Noah had Jacob's last name because I had yours. But now you're getting married and I'm the only Beauchamp. I don't like it, it feels like I don't belong, people will hear all of our names and wonder who my parents really are, because I haven't got the same last name as either my mum or my dad" she explained.

Connie sighed and sat down on the bed next to her, "what would you rather be? Grace Masters, Grace Strachan or a mixture of the two? Grace Strachan Masters?" she said.
"I wouldn't want to upset anyone, so I think I'd rather be both" Grace replied.
Connie nodded, "then I'll call your dad, talk to him about it and we can sort out changing your name ok?" she suggested.
"Thank you mummy, and I'm sorry I shouted at you. I do want to be your bridesmaid really" Grace told her.
She smiled and kissed her head, "it's ok sweetheart, I understand" she said.
Grace hugged her tightly, "I love you mummy" she said.
"I love you too" Connie replied.

She went downstairs a few minutes later to Jacob who was still sat in the kitchen, "everything ok?" he asked.
Connie nodded and perched herself on his knee, "I need to ring Sam. Grace is upset because once we get married she won't have the same name as either of her parents. I've said she can change it, and if it's ok with you she would be Grace Strachan Masters?" she said.
"That's fine with me babe, do you want to go and call him?" Jacob said.
"I'll do it later. He'll still be asleep because of the time difference. Anyway I was thinking we could take Noah and Maya out in their prams for a walk to the park. Grace can play on the swings and get ice cream?" Connie suggested.
"Sounds good baby, let's go and get ready" he said.
"In a minute" she replied.
"Ok..." Jacob said with a raised eyebrow.
"I just want to do this first" Connie said before looping her arms around his neck and attaching her lips to his in a passionate kiss.

An hour later they finally left the house, Connie pushing Noah's pram, Jacob pushing Maya's and Grace walking next to Connie.
Jacob smiled and wrapped his free arm around Connie's waist as they made their way to the park.
Grace sprinted off towards the swings as Connie and Jacob sat themselves down on a bench with Noah and Maya's prams next to them.
"I remember last time we sat here together. You told me this would happen, you told me in a year or so I'd be bringing our baby here too. And here I am, with you, Grace, Noah and Maya. It's perfect" Connie said as she rested her head on his shoulder.
"Yeah it is babe" Jacob agreed.
