Jacob went to go after Connie but his dad placed a hand on his shoulder, "stay with your baby, I'll go" he said.
"Leave her Derek" Victoria said but he shook his head, "you were out of order. You can't blame her for any of this, without her you wouldn't have Noah, but still Maya would be like this. She was in a car accident, that probably still would of happened if they were still together" he said before walking out.
Connie was sat on a chair in the corridor holding Noah in her arms when Derek approached her.
"May I?" he asked.
Connie nodded then he sat down next to her, "I know this wasn't your fault. Victoria's just upset but I'm not saying that makes what she said ok" he told her.
"Thank you" Connie replied.

"Would you mind if I held him?" Derek asked as he looked down at Mason.
"Of course not" Connie said as she passed him over carefully.
Derek smiled and held him, "he's lovely" he said.
"Thank you" Connie replied with a smile.
"You should be in there you know, with Jacob. He really does need you" he told her.
"I don't think I'm very welcome in there at the moment. Usually I would have something to say about it but right now I just haven't got the energy" she said.
"Don't tell my wife I said this but if I'm honest you have more right to be in there than she does. Yeah you aren't biologically related to Maya but Jacob needs you and so does she. Jacob wants you and Noah in there, that's all that matters" Derek replied.

Connie nodded and stood up, "thank you" she said then they both made their way back into NICU.
Jacob smiled as he saw her and wrapped his arms around her waist gently, "you ok beautiful?" he asked.
She nodded and snuggled into his chest, not noticing how Victoria was glaring at Derek obviously for bringing her back in here.
"You can go and get some rest babe, I don't mind" he told her.
"I want to stay with you" Connie replied.
"Why don't you both get some rest? We'll stay here with Maya so she won't be on her own, and I'll call you if there are any problems" Derek said.
"Actually I think Maya needs her family, including her brother and daddy, but Connie should get some rest. She looks tired" Victoria said.

"Out side. Now" Connie spat as she pulled away from Jacob.
"Excuse me?" Victoria asked.
"You heard me, outside" Connie said again.
Victoria followed her outside as Jacob watched them through the window.
"Right I don't know what your problem is with me but you need to get over yourself. Picking fights isn't going to help anyone, not Maya or Jacob. I don't know what you think of me but let's get one thing straight, I love your son and I'm going to support him and his baby. We are going to be a family, with or without you and you need to accept that" Connie told her sternly.
"And if I don't?" She asked.
"This is my hospital. Enough said don't you think?" she replied only to turn around as she heard monitors start beeping.
"Connie!" Jacob shouted as he flung the door open.

She ran back inside and held onto Jacob's hand as doctors and nurses surrounded Maya.
"Fast scanner now!" Connie said as she dropped his hand.
Mr T passed her one whilst not wanting to anger her then she quickly scanned Maya's chest.
"PDA, theatre now!" she ordered.
The incubator was quickly moved, Connie walking with it, "Mrs Beauchamp what are you doing?" Mr T asked.
"I'm saving her life!" Connie replied as they pushed her out of NICU.
