Part 15

Connie was lying in bed staring up at the ceiling rubbing her bump.
"Mummy I can't sleep, can I lie with you?" Grace asked as she opened the door.
"Course you can sweetheart" Connie smiled at her.
Grace went over and climbed into the bed next to Connie and snuggled close to her.
"How long till the baby is here now?" Grace asked.
"3 months, are you excited?" Connie replied.
"Very excited! What are you going to call him?" Grace asked.
"Oh, err I haven't really thought of that if I'm honest, I'll need to discuss that with Jacob" she said.
"Can you FaceTime him please mummy? It's only ten o'clock" Grace said.

Connie took her iPad and facetimed Jacob who answered in seconds.
"Hey sweetcheeks, hey princess" he grinned at them.
Connie looked at his bare chest and the heardboard behind him and smiled faintly, "are we interrupting?" she asked.
"No, I'm just watching a film, James Bond marathon on TV" he told her.
"Ok. I only called because Grace was wondering what we were going to name the baby, and I said we hadn't really discussed that. Have you got any ideas?" She said.

Jacob thought for a second before speaking again, "what about Noah?" he suggested.
Connie smiled and looked at Grace, "I love it, what about you sweetheart?" she said.
"Yeah it's really cute!" she grinned.
"That's settled then, Noah" Connie said.
"Now we need a middle name, you can choose con, since I suggested the first name" Jacob said.
"Jacob" Connie said firmly.
"Yeah?" he asked.
"No, Jacob you idiot!" she laughed.
"I am Jacob!" He said in confusion.
"She means the middle name! The baby's middle name should be Jacob!" Grace explained whilst giggling.

Jacob grinned, "oh! Yeah ok, sorry I was confused for a second then but yeah, Noah Jacob Masters, I like it" he said.
"Me too, it's perfect" Connie agreed.
"Just like his mummy" Jacob said.
Connie smiled softly, "we should go, night Jacob" she said.
"Night Beautiful, night firecracker" he said.
"Night Jacob" Grace giggled before Connie ended the call.
Connie put the iPad down the switched off her bedside light but Grace moved over and switched the on the one on the other side.

"What are you doing sweetheart? I want you to get some sleep, it's late for you" Connie said.
"Jacob loves you" Grace said whilst ignoring Connie's question.
"Grace let's not start with that. Me and Jacob are having Noah together but other than that we are just friends. He has Layla" Connie told her.
"Mummy he called you perfect and beautiful, that's not just friendship. I might only be eight but I know I'm right" Grace replied.
"Sweetheart if Jacob loved me I'm sure he would of said something by now, but he hasn't because he loves Layla. Come on sweetheart, get some sleep" she said.
"One last question, you think Jacob doesn't love you, but do you love him?" Grace asked.

Connie knew she had to lie, she couldn't risk Grace mentioning it to Jacob and making it awkward, "no sweetheart I don't love Jacob" she said.
"Oh ok, night mummy" Grace said.
"Night darling" Connie smiled as Grace switched the light off them curled up under the covers.
Connie laid down properly and laid her hands on her bump underneath her top.
She smiled as she felt him kick directly underneath her hand before she closed her eyes and fell asleep too.
