The weekend was kind of a drag. After Hannah broke up with me I really didn't feel like doing anything. After the date Friday I called Kenzie and told her all about it. She was sorry for me, but said that maybe it was for the best. Maybe it is, but I'm still not happy with it.

Hannah was my friend before she was my girlfriend and now she's neither. Or I'm assuming she doesn't want to talk to me at all anymore. I'm really going to miss her if she doesn't.

Maybe after some time we can go back to being friends. Some people think that you can't after a breakup, but it's not like we ended horribly. It's not like I cheated or something.

I reach over and turn the radio in my jeep up, trying to drown out my thoughts. It's too early in the morning to be thinking about my now ex-girlfriend. Kind of hard though, we did only break up three days ago. It's still really, really fresh.

Just as I pull up to Mackenzie's house she comes running out of her front door. She didn't stop to lock it, so her parents must still be at home. Speaking of parents, mine were not happy about the break up. Like I said before, they liked Hannah.

Mackenzie opens up the passenger side door and hops in. She turns in the seat to face me, a concerned expression on her face.

"How are you?" She asks softly. I almost roll my eyes but I know she would probably thump my nose if I did. She has a bad habit of doing that if I do something she doesn't like. It's really annoying and it actually hurts pretty bad.

"I'm good, Kenzie." I tell her. "Now shut your door so we can leave, please."

She purses her lips and looks at me skeptically, but complies with my request. I really do think that I'm good. Sure it hurts, but I'll get over it.

"You obviously don't want to talk about it, so I won't mention it again. When you're ready to talk, I'm here. Just remember that." She says. I nod my head thankfully.

We don't talk the rest of the ride and it's peaceful. When we get to the school I park the jeep and Mackenzie jumps out of it and takes off running towards the school building, leaving me confused.

Where is she in a hurry to go? Class doesn't start for another ten minutes and she left me all alone.

Well, that was an embarrassing thought. I sound like I depend on Mackenzie to be with me everywhere I go. I'm not a child, I can make it to my class without her. Of course I can.

I scoff out loud at myself as I walk to my locker, getting some weird looks along the way. When I reach my locker I put in my combination and open it up. Someone clears their throat beside me and I turn to face them.

Dean Bennett, one of Christian's lackeys, stands there leaning against the locker next to mine with a smirk on his face. He's a tall, African American boy with bright brown eyes and curly brown hair. He's pretty good looking, all of Christian's friends are.

"Did you want something?" I ask, a bit rudely, I admit.

"I was just going to ask how your date went Friday." He says, shrugging his shoulders.

My eyes widen and I clench my teeth together. If Dean knows about the date then Christian must know. That means that I could really be right about him being at the restaurant to mess with me.

"It went horrible, thanks to your asshole friend." I seethe and Dean just chuckles.

He pushes himself off his locker and starts walking away. While I watch him, the bell rings suddenly. Great, now I'm going to be late. I grab my music book out of my locker and slam it shut. Tucking my book under my arm, I start sprinting to class.
