My phone dings, alerting me that someone has texted me. I pick it up and look at the screen, surprised to see a message from Evan asking me if I want to come over. I'm surprised and also slightly terrified because I know his parents are home. He wants me to meet his parents...
I get off my bed and walk towards my closet, digging around for something to wear. Something casual, but also nice. I want to make a good first impression, after all.
I find a pair of nice jeans and a button up shit. Dressing quickly, I mentally face palm at the fact that I didn't text Evan back. I grab my phone and send him a text letting him know I'm on my way.
Pausing before walking out of my room, I wonder if Evan meant for me to stay the night. I decide I'll just pack a small overnight bag just in case. Once it's packed and I have everything, I walk down the stairs into the foyer and out of the empty house.
My parents don't care about me, I know that. They've never really been around. When I was younger, I was raised by a nanny, but eventually my parents- or rather the people who birthed me, decided I was old enough to not need one anymore.
I don't need one, but it would be nice to have someone around.
I sigh and shake my head. Now's not the time for those kinds of thoughts. I get into my car and pull out of the long driveway leading to my house. I'm glad Evan invited me, even if meeting his parents is making me nervous as fuck.
The drive to Evan's is long and quiet, but eventually I get there, pulling into the driveway, behind his jeep. I'm hardly out of my car before Evan is coming out the house and walking towards me.
"Hey." He greets awkwardly, once he is standing right in front of me. I raise an eyebrow at him.
"What?" He purses his lips and looks behind him at his house. I'm about to ask what he's doing when he turns back towards me and quickly presses his lips against mine.
They're gone before I can respond to the kiss, but it makes me smile. "You're so cute."
He scowls at me, blushing. "Shut up. Lets go inside before they come looking for us." He sighs.
I gulp and take a deep breath. I'm meeting his parents. Right now. I never thought I would be so nervous about meeting someone's mom and dad, but I am. I mean, they're not just any someone's parents, they are Evan's. And I want them to like me, even if I'm only being introduced as a friend.
Evan starts walking towards his house and I slowly follow after him. He pulls open the front door and walks inside. I hesitate outside the doorway, feeling like I should knock or something, even though he expected me to follow him in. I shake my head, I'm acting like a fool again. But I guess I'm a fool for Evan.
Damn that was cheesy. I'm going to pretend I didn't just think that.
"What are you doing?" Evan asks suddenly, pulling me out of my thoughts. I don't get a chance to answer, another voice calling out and taking our attention.
