• Evan •

The nerve of that guy! I swear to god next time I see him, I'm going to kick his face in!

Well, actually, I don't want a suspension. My mom would kill me. I also doubt I could reach his face with my foot and it's not like he would bend down for me.

I huff as I glance around the parking lot, seeing all these people watching me. Some with looks of pity, others with amusement. I grit my teeth together.

"Fuck off!" I yell, startling them. A few of them scurry off and others casually walk to their cars. Fucking nosy bastards.

I walk to my jeep, seething. How dare he just blow me off like that? He thinks he's all that, doesn't he? Of course he does. Everyone else seems to think he is too.

I get into the jeep and slam the door shut. I guess a lot of slamming is going on today. I grip the steering wheel in my hands and just sit there, silently fuming. After a minute I feel a hand on my shoulder and I turn to face Mackenzie.

"You really need to stop letting him get to you, Evan." She says, worriedly.

"Kinda hard to do that when everything he does is done to mess with me." I say and Mackenzie frowns.

"Just don't pay him any attention. It's not like he's honestly done anything to you..." She says, trailing off.

"You're right. I'll just ignore him from now on. If he messes with me, then I'll kick his ass." I say. Mackenzie snorts, a teasing smile forming on her face.

"As if you could. You're like a foot shorter and a hundred pounds lighter than him." She says playfully. She's not really lying though.

I mean, about me being shorter and lighter than him, not about me not being able to kick his ass.

"I've done fairly well in fights against him before, you know." I defend. Mackenzie raises an eyebrow and shakes her head.

"Yeah, because he never really tries to do any real damage. If he wanted to, he could probably put you in the hospital easily."

I furrow my eyebrows at her words. Thinking back on it, it does seem like he has always held back. Actually, he barely hits me when we fight. More like he just dodges my punches.

"Hmm. I think you're right." I admit begrudgingly, causing Mackenzie's smile to grow.

"Of course I am!" She says happily. "Now, let's go to my house and relax. Watch some movies, maybe play a game on my PlayStation."

"Sounds good." I agree and start up the jeep. Mackenzie reaches for the aux cord and I roll my eyes. Of course.

We make it to Kenzie's house in record time. As soon as I stop the car she's hopping out and running into her yard. I turn the jeep off and watch her slip her sandals off. She runs around, sliding her bare feet in the grass. I laugh and get out of the jeep.

"C'mon, slowpoke." She hollers and runs to her front door, unlocking it. She disappears into her house and I follow after her, shutting the door behind me.

"Let's grab some snacks." She says walking towards her kitchen. She opens the fridge and grabs two Coke cans.

I've been to Mackenzie's house so often I know where everything is. I open a certain cabinet and scan the contents. I pick two bags of chips, one of nacho cheese Doritos and another of hot chips. Before I close the cabinet I grab two packs of gummy worms as well.

When I look up I don't see Mackenzie, so I assume she left to her basement already. I leave the kitchen and find my way there. I was right. Mackenzie's laid out on her couch, already watching something on the tv.

I walk over to the couch and 'gently' plop myself on top of her. Mackenzie groans loudly and I snicker at her.

"Get off me, fatty." She says, her voice muffled. I bite my lip, smiling.

"I'm sorry, what did you say?" I ask in a teasing voice. Suddenly I feel a hand sneak up my shirt and pinch my stomach.

I yelp, throwing my body off of her and onto the carpet-covered cement floor. I watch Mackenzie sit up on the couch. She's got a smug look on her face while I'm rolling around on the ground in pain.

"God, that hurt." I complain.

"That's what you get. Now c'mon we have snacks to eat and shows to binge watch." She says, patting a spot on the couch next to her.

I narrow my eyes and get up from the floor. Moving to the couch, I sit down in the spot she indicated and rest my hand on the arm of the couch. I pull the lever on the side and the foot rest thingy pops out.

I lay out and Mackenzie snuggles into my side. It's just a friendly thing, I know Mackenzie doesn't like me in that way. I put my arm around her and get comfortable while she chooses something to watch.

It's easy with Mackenzie. Spending time with her is something I really enjoy and we never fight or argue. We would probably have a great relationship if we did like each other that way.

Mackenzie finally picks a show and I groan. This was a good show at first, but I've kind of lost my interest in it, to be honest. They keep killing people off and bringing them back to life and it's just so unbelievable. Kind of stupid, really.

"Do we have to watch The Vampire Diaries?" I ask. "I'm sure there's something better."

"My Netflix, my rules. And don't act like you didn't get to pick Criminal Minds last time." She states, sticking her tongue out at me.

She has a point, but I know she likes that show too! She was practically drooling over Derek Morgan when we watched it last.

"Pass me the gummy worms, please."

Kenzie hands a pack to me and I easily pull the bag open. I tip my head back and dangle a worm above my open mouth for a second before letting it drop. I turn my attention back to the tv. Maybe I can get into the show.
