• Evan •Christian's house is really nice, which is no surprise. With his parents being loaded and all, I definitely expected them to live in a nice, big house with a fenced in backyard and a large in-ground swimming pool. Maybe a hot tub too.
I should really find out if he actually has a pool, I'd love to go swimming in it if he does. And he should have no problem letting me since we're 'friends' now. Or maybe I shouldn't swim in his pool, if he has one. He might drown me and make it look like an accident.
That's a bit far-fetched. I don't actually think Christian has it in him to murder someone. But, like, if he did... well, he probably could actually get away with it.
"Evan." Christian says, getting my attention. He's standing right in front of me, looking at me with an expectant expression.
"What?" I ask, dumbly. Christian smirks and laughs a bit.
"I don't know, you just completely zoned out for a minute there. What were you thinking?" Christian asks, his smirk changing to a cute little smile.
Did I just say cute?
"Do you have a pool?" I blurt out. Christian gives me a confused look, nodding his head.
"Awesome. You should totally let me swim in it sometime." I say, glad for the distraction. Christian's different colored eyes seem to have a spark in them.
"Maybe when it gets warmer and the weather is nice. If it wasn't raining we could get in the hot tub."
"Ah," I groan. "You have a hot tub too?! Color me jealous." I say and Christian laughs.
This is weird. I'm actually acting all friendly and everything with him and it's different. Not a bad different though, although I am still going to keep my guard up. It's kind of suspicious that he all of a sudden wants to be friends with me. He must have ulterior motives!
Okay, okay. Maybe I shouldn't be thinking about that right now. Well, I mean, I actually should be keeping my guard up right now. I am alone with him in his territory, after all.
Christian walks in front of me down a long hallway in the upstairs of his house. He eventually stops and pushes open a door, walking into the room. I follow him in and deduce that it's his bedroom. It's just as nice as the rest of his house.
I stand just inside of the room and watch him walk to a large oak dresser. He pulls out some clothes and surprises me by tossing them to me. I catch them before they fall and look up at him in confusion. He's not looking at me though, he's back to digging in a drawer.
"What's this for?" I ask, holding up the clothes. I inspect them and see that he's given me a pair of gray sweatpants and a faded red shirt with the school's crest on it.
He turns around, more clothes in hand, and looks me up and down. "Well, we're both kind of soaked. You can wear those and I'll put your clothes in the dryer."
"Oh, okay. Tha- " I cut myself off as Christian peels off his shirt right in front of me. My mouth drops open as I stare at his well defined chest and six pack.
"Dude, what the hell?!" I exclaim, tearing my eyes away from him.
"We're both guys, Evan, I didn't think it would matter." He says and I look back over at him, seeing the glint of amusement in his eyes.
"Plus I only took my shirt off... " He adds and I realize how dumb I must look. Guys go shirtless all the time, it's no biggie!
So why am I freaking out?
"Right, whatever." I grumble and turn my back to Christian, feeling a heat creep up my cheeks. God, I'm actually blushing.
I quickly change into the clothes and turn around. Christian is staring at me with a weird look in his eyes that makes me uncomfortable.
"Are you going to drown me now?" I ask.
Idiot. I am such an idiot.
Christian's eyes clear and he gives me a look. "What? I'm not going to drown you, Evan, no matter how much I may want to."
"Right, well, movies then?" I say, feeling unexplainably awkward. The whole situation is just too weird.
"Right. Well, I don't own any actual DVDs, but I do have Netflix." He says, moving to his bed. He grabs the remote sitting on his nightstand and pushes a button, turning on his smart tv.
After pressing it, he looks over at me. "Are you going to just stand there, or are you going to sit down?"
I scoff and roll my eyes at his bossy tone. I only hesitate slightly before sitting on the large bed with him. It's gotta be at least a king size. There's plenty of room so it's not like we're sitting weirdly close or anything. Christian is leaning against the headboard on one side and I'm on the other.
He finds the Netflix app and selects it, handing me the remote. I take the remote from him and give him a confused look.
"You can pick the movie and I'll go get us some snacks." He says and gets off the bed, leaving the room before I have a chance to say anything.
"Ah, okay." I say into the empty room. I run a hand through my hair and look towards the screen.
I flip through some of the categories before going back to the recently watched list out of curiosity. I furrow my eyebrows at some of the movies in the list. He must share this Netflix account with someone else or something.
I go back to looking through the movies and eventually settle on Maniac, a 2012 slash/thriller staring Elijah Wood. It looks weird as hell, but seems interesting. If Christian doesn't want to watch it then he can always pick something else. I don't know why he even left me to pick one.
It isn't much longer until Christian is coming back into the room with a bowl of popcorn held in one hand with two cans of Coke balanced on top of the popcorn.
"I should've asked what you wanted before I left, sorry." He says, sounding a bit embarrassed. He sits the bowl down on the bed and takes the drinks out, passing me one.
I take the can from him and ask nonchalantly, "So who do you share this account with?"
He puts his unopened Coke down on the bed and turns to me with a confused expression. "No one. Why do you ask?"
I feel my eyes widen and my face warm a bit. "Uh, well, some of the movies in your recently watched list are, um, kinda gay?"
Christian's own eyes widen for a second before his face clears. "I enjoy some of those types of movies."
"Really?" I ask, surprised. I don't have anything against gay people, but I don't think I could watch a romance movie between two dudes.
"Yes, really." He says and, after only a moment of hesitation, adds, "I'm gay, Evan."
