Melody

"I'll show you all around here!"

"I've been in New York before Dee," Uncle Ray chuckles, as I lock the front door behind me.

"But you haven't seen around here, there are amazing places around the neighborhood." I grin, locking my forearm around his and dragging him forward, as we begin to walk.

"Central Park is just a few blocks from here, and this, is a small library," I point at the library, with a smile.

"And this is—"

The loud rings coming from my phone interrupt me, and I quickly pull it out from my pocket, recognizing Louis' contact name.

"Hey Lou,"

"Hi Mel!" He speaks a bit energetically. "What're you up to? I can't find you in the house either,"

Louis must've came home minutes after I got out. "Oh, I just got out with Uncle Raymond, showing him around a bi—"

"Wait hold up, Raymond? What the heck?" He asks, surprised.

I roll my eyes, with a smile. "Didn't Harry tell you? Uncle Ray's gonna stay with us for a few days."

"Alright, I've gotta go and talk to Harry now. I'll see you later," He mumbles then I hear the familiar beep, indicating he ended the call.

Sighing, I say. "Anyways, as I was saying, this is the local café everyone hangs around in." I mutter, as certain flashbacks make their way into my mind.

"Perfect! Let's go in there then and have a little chitchat," He smiles when I nod in agreement, and we both get inside the café. The small bell rings above our heads, a few heads of the customers turning around to gaze at us briefly.

We make our way to a random booth next to the window and plop down.

My eyes lock on the other booth to my left, remembering when I first arrived to NY and told Zayn to show me around. As far as I remember, we sat in that booth, and he was very rude. I remember telling him that's the cigarette he was smoking wasn't good for his health, and he ignored me back then. That was one and a half month ago.

Fast forward to now, and you'll see me ridiculously in love with the rude boy.

I shake my head at myself. I shouldn't be thinking of him.

I look up at the waiter, who seems to be having a conversation with Uncle Ray.

"—and I'll have a blueberry muffin. Thank you."

The brunette waiter scribbles down the order and turns his gaze to me. "Uh, I'll have the same." I say with furrowed eyebrows, pretending to be listening all along.

When the waiter is out of our sight, Uncle Raymond turns his attention back at me. I offer him a small smile, in which he returns.

"Tell me darling, are you finally getting adapt here? Is everything going alright?"

Clearing my sore throat, I answer. "Yeah, yeah. I like it here, it's good to be back. It's going well, you know—I've got great coaches, my live show is coming together, and I'm ready. I'm ready for this." I grin.

"That's great, I'm glad it's working out for you." He smiles lightly, his eyes crinkling at the corner. "Before your parents died, all that your mother ever wanted was for you to get there. To get where you want to be, and I know you're getting there."
