I'M TRYING TO UPDATE AS MUCH AS I CAN FOR YOU GUYS BC YA'LL ARE AMAZING BUT I HAVE SO MUCH TO DO I WANT TO CRY
Melody
I wish Zayn would—
"Higher!" Liam's shout startles me out of my thoughts, and I loose my balance a little bit but I grip the ballet bar swiftly so I won't fall.
I inhale a breath and re-balance myself, lifting my leg higher as he instructed. I keep my head high as well, feeling a sudden pain strike my leg.
"Higher, Melody! I wanna see how flexible you are. C'mon!" Liam shouts again from the far corner, his voice booming through the empty room.
I shake my head vigorously with closed eyes, not being able to hold my leg high anymore. Niall watches silently as he approaches me, and takes a hold of my ankle that is surprisingly still in the air. He lifts it more higher, and I let out a small whimper as the pain returns. Niall grips my waist and fixes my posture. Then he puts my hands behind my back, "Try to stay still like this for two more minutes, yeah?" He says softly.
I nod my head, trying to do as he says. Two minutes. 120 seconds. It's not that hard, I've held it longer before. I just have to clear my mind, and focus.
My lips quiver though when my leg aches with undeniable pain, and disappointingly, I let it back down on the floor. Hiding my face behind my hands, I try not to cry.
"Oh no," I hear Liam mumbling, clear disappointment strained in his tone.
My hands tremble as I take deep shaky breath and suddenly exclaim, "It's not working! Nothing is! I can't do this turn right, hell I can't even lift my leg high enough!"
When my arms fall to my sides, I see Niall and Liam approaching me with sad frowns.
"Oh, Mel, don't—"
"No, Niall!" I rudely cut him off. "It's been two hours. We both know that I suck at this, and it's not working!" My heart suddenly starts to pound promptly, and the whole air disappears away from my lungs. "It's an—an easy damn turn and I can't do it!"
"Melody, Melody, listen to me!" Liam grips my shoulders very tightly. "Listen, Mel, Melody," He repeatedly says while my chest falls up and down along my sobs.
"I—I can't d—" I shake my head vigorously, cutting my own self off.
"Melody," Liam says more softly but his grip on my shoulders is still firm. "It's an easy turn, yes. But you're the one whose letting everything to tumble down on you. What the hell Melody? This is not you." He stares at me with furrowed eyebrows as my sobs begin to stop, and my heart slows down. "You're gonna do this damn turn and you're gonna do it perfectly, do you hear me?"
I stay in my place, while sniffling but I blink when Liam shakes my body, "I said, do you hear me?"
It takes me a while to nod my head.
"Good," Liam mumbles, leaving my shoulders. "Back to the top!" He yells once he turns on his heels.
I stay stuck in my spot though, but I can sense Niall standing next to me. He sighs, his hand rising to wipe away the dried tears on my cheeks. "Do—Don't get him wrong, he said that for your own good. He acts a bit tough sometimes." He chuckles at the end which makes me smile lightly.
"C'mon, where's that beautiful smile?" Niall cups my cheeks together, getting a few giggles out of me.
A smile then forms on my lips. I sniffle once again and rub my eyes, taking a very deep breath. I nod to myself, then Niall beams at me, pecking me swiftly on the forehead and heading towards Liam at the far corner of the room.
