Tobias POV

It was a weekend we got to see each other, a weekend I found in myself how much I truly loved this girl. How nothing could keep us apart.

"Should we be out this late?" I ask, Tris walking ahead of me.

"What? Are you scared???" Tris asks, walking backwards. Looking at me and her tone a mocking one.

"No. I just don't want you getting lost, and it's cold out." I tell her, reaching up with her and holding her hand.

"It's not too bad." She says resting her head on my shoulder and we continue to walk.

We did this all the time when we were together, taking night walks in the woods. Staring at the stars and holding each other for as long as we had each other.

"So I finish college next month." Tris points out, biting her lip but I can still see her smile.

"That's right, you happy?" I ask.

"Yes. I'm so ready to be done." Tris says, as we reach a clearing.

"You know you'll have still have to go to school to become a nurse right." I tell her, getting a glare in return.

We sit down in the bare field, just green grass that at night looks black. She sits in my lap and I wrap myself around her.

"Let's not think about it right now." Tris mumbles into my arm.

If she goes to medical school to get her degree, it'll be more and more miles away. It's already a three hour drive for me to come up to see her.

"I just want to sit here. With you." She whispers, and we look ahead at all the thousands to twinkling stars.

"Okay." I say, kissing the top of her head. The smell of her strawberry shampoo filling my nose. I always loved that smell on her.

Silence soon fills the air, but it's not one where we just have nothing to say. It's one that we like, the quietness with each other. A comforting feeling.

"I love you." I say, my voice feeling like it echo's around us.

Tris tilts her head to look at me, smiling at me. It's dark but I can still see the blue sparkling of her eyes.

"I love you too Tobias." She says and I lean down, my lips meeting hers. They stay there for what feels like forever, not wanting to let go.

I pull back resting my head against her forehead.

"I have a surprise for you." I whisper, and she giggles.

"What is it??"

"Close your eyes and you'll see." I say, and she scoots off my lap. Sitting across of me, covering her eyes with her hands.

"Before we started college you told me what you wanted with me later in life." I tell her and she nods-probably wondering why she needed to close her eyes for this.

"I remember that." She says.

"You said that you wanted a house together, not an apartment, a house. One we'd design together, and that we'd build ourselves." I recite, seeing her smile.

"You said you wanted to paint it a navy blue color, with white shingles and white windows."

"I wanted the white to pop on the navy." Tris laughs.

"You wanted a big master bedroom for us, one with a stone fireplace. And an even bigger living room, with a huge mantel to place pictures and our children's trophy's. And three extra bedrooms, one for a child, another one for a child and the third for company. Or another child." I laugh, and I can tell that Tris wants to take her hands off her eyes.

"You said you wanted marble kitchen counters, and a glass shower for us. You wanted a large backyard for our kids, and a garden for the summer time."

"That's right!" Tris says, remembering all she told me.

"You wanted lilac bushes in the front yard, lining the house. And daisy's around the mail box." I say, remembering when she said that. How detailed she was.

"And you told me that you wanted a small wedding, one to hold small precious moments." I say and she bites her lip this time to keep tears back.

"And you didn't want some big fancy ring, a small sentimental one. One I picked out myself."

"I did say that didn't I?" Tris says, laughing a little.

"You wanted a beautiful life together, one we could grow old watching." I say, and grab something from my pocket.

"You wanted a love that would last a lifetime and longer." I speak and tell Tris to open her eyes.

"Do you still want all that?" I ask, on one knee holding a small ring. One I picked out myself, one that's small and sentimental.

Tris looks shocked and her mouth gapes a little. Tears making their way down her cheeks.

"Yes." She whispers.

I take something else from my pocket, a picture.

"This looks close enough right??" I ask, showing her the picture of a house with navy pain and white shingles, white windows, and lilac bushes lining it.

"Oh my--" Tris breathes, looking down at it.

"Is this real?" She asks, looking up with tears in her eyes.

"It's real, been working on it for almost three years." I say.

"That's what you did all this time?" Tris asks, knowing I didn't go to a big university like she did.

"I had to make it perfect." I say, still holding the ring.

"Will you make it all perfect, all complete?" I ask, and she looks at me smiling.

"Yes!" And with the I slip the ring on, making it look more and more beautiful on her finger.

"I love you." She whispers.

"The best part about the house, is that it's four miles from your medical school." I tell her and she falls into my arms.

"I love you." I tell her and she seals it with a kiss.

Girl I'm on fire, girl you're on fire

Out in the dark, where the wild things are

So right, girl I'm so high

You and me, wild and free

Way out in the woods parked under the pines

Love in the back of the truck with the tailgate down
