Chapter 4

It's a gorgeous day, obviously it is still ridiculously hot. It is Texas after all but my internal temperature seems to have risen when I saw who was waiting in my normal parking spot this morning. "Did you threaten Maya?" He misses my confused gaze, no thanks to my helmet, and while removing it I can't help but laugh at the seemingly frustrated Lucas Friar.

"Threatened?" I remained seated on my bike, while questioning his phrasing. "Seems as if your girlfriend has been spreading a few lies, Sparky. She approached me and said to stay away from you." I unzipped my leather jacket, exposing my maroon tank top that hugs my frame tightly, and watched his eyes dart to my collarbone then instantly back up to my eyes. I negate the idea to tease him, though it would be so easy. He's already distracted enough, and I would like to clear up this 'misunderstanding' AKA 'lie Lala told'. "I simply said if she had a problem take it up with you and to not try to out intimidate me. It's advice more than a threat."

His clenched jaw began to relax with my revelation - thank God - he somehow gets sexier when he does that. However, even though he's relaxed I can still tell he's hesitant to believe me. "So you didn't?"

Cocking my head to the side, I'm sure to make my facial expression an 'are you effing kidding me' look. "What would I have to gain from threatening Lala?" I swung my leg off my Harley - my pride and joy, but to my surprise pretty boy didn't move backwards. So to say we're close is a little underwhelming there's maybe 2 inches of space between us.

"Maya." He corrects, even though it is useless. I'll remember your name if I want to and clearly I have no desire to remember hers. "Well, you've said I was sexy before. So, me?"

I lightly laugh, and glance around to make sure no one is paying attention. I'd hate to give him a bad reputation. "You are sexy, and your body is amazing." No lies spoken here. "It could just be the fact that you constantly wear tight shirts, they're made to make people look bigger. But, clearly you work out often which makes you even more attractive." Lucas was so visibly nervous which made him even cuter, I inched towards his ear and whispered, "but let's be honest Sparky. Girlfriend or not, if I wanted to have you, I could." The quarterback gulped, his Adam's apple receding before residing back to its natural state. "What? Does your girlfriend not talk to you like this?" When I inhale deeply, his cologne fills my senses. It was so manly and strong, like a pine tree almost.

He shakes his head sharply, "Nope." It was clear his gaze was fixated on anything but me. The bright blue sky peppered with clouds, the stained concrete, somewhat dead grass and rusty cars held his focus.

"That's too bad, because clearly you don't know how fucking attractive you are. Someone needs to tell you." God I love toying with him, he makes it so much fun because he is so, good. I don't think he's had a woman outright tell him how beautiful he is. And yes, I say beautiful because he has Adonis like features that can't be denied. I stepped to his side feeling his triceps brush against my biceps. "I know you think about me Lucas." That was a long shot, especially since he has a girlfriend. But when I was answered with silence, I was inwardly smiling. "I'd be lying if I said I didn't think about you too."

"Really?!" He cleared his throat and a smile tugged at my lips from his excitement. "I mean really?" Lucas spoke more calmly this time now that he had contained his emotions. He let those run wild and free for a little bit.

"Oh yeah, but I'm not about that dating life. Too many emotions. So you see, I wouldn't have threatened Rara." I took a step back and saw him inhale deeply. Has he been holding his breath the entire time? "See you in first period, Sparky."
