Chapter 5
"You ready Rebel?" It was a lovely Friday evening, and instead of doing anything else that would be more appealing to me, I find myself going to a party... with Sparky... and his girlfriend. I should really learn her name, she's been around him a lot more lately. "Would you like to ride with Maya and me?" Maya, that's her name. I shook my head and threw on my helmet. The sooner we get there, the sooner I can leave. That's sound enough logic for me. "Alright just follow me, Rebel."
"Why do you call her Rebel? Her name is Riley." Someone's in a pissy mood. I have a feeling I have something to do with it.
I am curious myself though how he came up with that nickname, it was pretty coincidental that it just so happens to be my ring name as well. "She calls me Sparky for whatever reason and clearly she doesn't like authority so I call her Rebel. It's a little game I invented." Does he not know when to shut up? Sparky is going to be in a lot of trouble later. Her blue eyes rolled when I released a light smile, because he's an idiot. This should be a fun night. Within minutes I was following him across town questioning my decision to go in the first place. It'd be easy to bail, I could flip back around right now and have no issues or moral qualms whatsoever. Except for Sparky, he'd be banging at my door within 10 minutes of me being home. He's relentless, and I can't even go to Josh for help out of this because he had some work to do and doesn't let me train the night before a fight. The day of, he's all over me but the night before I'm supposed to focus on anything but the match.
It was 10 o'clock when we pulled into a rich neighborhood and I immediately regret coming, I'm not that fancy. My grey skinny jeans and purple tank top probably won't work for whatever the hell this town considers a party. There were lots of cars sitting outside, the whole school must be here. I glance to my left and saw her car. My muscles tense as soon as my eyes find it, a bright pink mustang isn't easy to miss. I also know the moment I step inside, all hell will break loose. Lucas and Maya already walked inside, despite his protests to wait on me. Apparently this was her place and her friends decided to throw a party while her parents were out of town. A fact I could have lived without but Lucas just loves to talk. After a few minutes of staring down her car, a heavy sigh and wondering why the hell she was even here, I step inside.
Smoke invades my face, but I quickly came to the assumption it was from smoke machines. The sound of both loud music and shouting echoed through my ears. She always loved being the center of attention. "WHERE THE FUCK IS SHE?" There she was, all 5 foot 6 of her holding onto the collar of some terrified cheer leader. Seriously, who wears their uniform, on a bi-week to a party... I'm judging her. Alright, gotta focus. "I ASKED WHERE SHE WAS?"
When I make my way through the small circle that had gathered, I just watch her terrorize for a few seconds. Missy Bradford is a lot of things, all synonyms to the word 'bitch'. I'll let you google. "Drop the poor girl. Damn." Missy snaps her head my direction and smirks, as if she lured me into a dangerous situation. I can feel Lucas' glaring eyes on both of us as he tries to figure out what the hell was going on. With a thud she released the cheerleader's collar and turned on her heels to face me completely.
"I figured I'd find you here, you could never resist a good party." Okay, I used to party a lot. Blah, blah, blah. If it weren't for Sparky, I wouldn't even be here. Thanks, bro.
I click my tongue as she tries to intimidate me, her eyes are narrowed while we touch shoulders, and as usual she's smirking all evil like. The key word is try, especially since it's her sister and not her that's the real threat. "Is there a reason you're here?" Her dark hair moved from my shoulder when she took a few steps back to give me some breathing room.
