Kaarina gazed out the window as she watched the buildings of the Big Apple pass by. It was still all unfamiliar to her. Was this really her mother's home? It was also where her father lived but she didn't want to remember those times. If she did, it would have only one ending. Her father was dead. But his memory lived on.

The small space that she was in with Achilles caused her nerve endings to be on edge. Why did she accept his invitation again? He wasn't even talking to her. Not like she was talking to him either, but he was clearly the confident one here. She was only good at speeches in front of a large crowd with many persons she didn't know and didn't like. And that was why she was a sucker at dating. The intimacy and all that "lovey dovey" thing was never in her make up, despite her parents good example while she grew up. Somethings just wasn't for her, she concluded. Work was her life. The only life she basically knew.

"So...?" She began, watching his expression carefully if he was listening. It seemed he was not affected, but she had to say something. The tension was pass the stage of suffocation. "Where are we going?"

Her voice was a little shaky, but still strong. She didn't know why she was so nervous. He was just a guy. She sighed. The side effects of being around a hot guy.

He smiled, only a tilt at the corners of his lips but Kaarina was observing him too carefully to not notice. So he did hear her? She felt a little happy at causing him to smile. Yep, she was definitely loco.

"Took you long enough," he stated and Kaarina rolled her eyes at him. He really was cocky. She didn't understand why he was waiting on her to speak first. She concluded he was a coward. "Don't want to speak for you to just shut me out."

Kaarina admired his sharp cheekbones and the small indentation in his cheek that she never noticed before. How that had slipped her was unknown. But she would be damn if it didn't add to his allure. It was calling her to place her lips on it. Kaarina didn't know where these thoughts were coming from. She was not going to kiss him. No matter how badly she wanted to. No matter how much the memory of those sensuous lips pressed on hers have her body carving for more. Nope.

She wouldn't, dammit!

"And how would you know that? You barely know me," she reminded him, the tension she hoped to get rid of was now crackling with something close to electricity. "Where are you going?"

"You ask too much questions, are you a biology pop quiz?" He said and Kaarina rolled her eyes at his attempt of making a 'smartass' comment. "Don't you think things just happen for a good reason."

"Exactly," she agreed with a smile and he glanced at her with a funny look on his face. The urge to laugh was so great, she let out a very unlady-like snort. "That's why I ask questions. Now stop changing the topic and answer my questions."

"Bossy much," the smirk on his face grew which made Kaarina sizzling with silent annoyance. She didn't know if she wanted to slap him across the face or kiss him instead. The latter should not have been so alluring. There was something she was suffering from, she thought. Probably the diseases that she girls with almost everyday. "And if you haven't pick it up, the topic hasn't changed. It's still about you questioning me and I answering."

"Those aren't answers," she fired back, her body fully turned towards him. He was now on the spotlight. "They're stupid remarks and questions."

"They are my answers,"" he replied coolly, pressing on the brakes again. "You don't have to like them."

Kaarina folded her hands across her chest in a defiant gesture. To Achilles, it was probably her way of saying she was angry. But the reason Kaarina did that was because she found herself itching to touch him and she wasn't sure how much self control she had. Hopefully it was enough until this date was over.
