Lizzy

How could a person describe the emotions there feeling when chaos is erupting around them. First I find out my best friend is alive but has been tortured for four years. Now I find out she is some kind a magical dragon creature thing from a world that is make believe world. And not only that, but my boyfriend one of said dragon people. The feeling is not confused as is to be expected, no it's is FREAKIN' TERRIFIED!

How often do you find out your friends are from a magical world that got demolished or whatever happened and now have to go back, and are taking you with them. Then your best friend shadow travels you away from the cops! Oh my gosh talk about insanity.

How am I going to explain this to my parents? How are they going to react? Where are we even going? So many questions, not enough answers. I sigh as I reach my front door, opening the front door arms embrace me. "Thank goodness you're okay!" I hear my mother's voice exclaim.

"Mom I need you to sit down for a minute," I say pushing her towards the couch. "Do you remember my friend Rose?" I ask. "Well the people that kidnapped her came to our school and tried to take her again by holding Jasmin, Brianna, and me hostage. But then Jack, Jake, and the twins came in and used these strange powers, and then Leo showed up with lightning, now they have to go back to the weird magical world they came from and mom I might be going insane because I feel like I should go with them!" I finish nearly hyperventilating.

My mom only looks at me and sighs, "Lizzy, calm down. I need you to listen carefully. As you know you're adopted right?" I nod. Of course I know that I mean I look nothing like my parents. "Well we don't know where you came from you showed up in our driveway unconscious. You had burnt clothing on and were clutching something in your hand as it were a life line."

My mom opens the side table drawer and pulls out a wooden box, opening it up I see a necklace with a clear jewel. "We had to pry this out of your hand. You woke up three days later. And you know the rest. But your clothing or what was left of it wasn't from this world. Even though it pains me to say this, I believe you should go with them."

Jack

Still part of me denies her being alive. After four years of hearing nothing after that phone call, one would believe her to be dead. We might have acted like we couldn't stand each other at times but-

My eyes start to get watery just thinking about how, dare I say it, weak she looked on that hospital bed. Extremely pale, thin, and her eyes lacking that normal spark that defines trouble. Jake and the guys offered to let me go in alone to see Rose first but I couldn't do it so he came with me.

I don't know what overcame me but when she asked if we were okay I nearly exploded. We had been here safe and sound worrying if she was alive or not and after finally seeing us again she wants to know if we were the ones that were okay. And then she apologies for cringing away from physical contact. I don't even know what to say about that.

But then it gets even better! Her kidnappers take over the school and hold three of her very good friend's hostage and she goes in there showing no fear. Okay, no fear isn't the correct term because when I was standing behind her I could sense fear coming off her in waves, but she acted like she was fine.

And now we are going back to the sanctuary. I don't even know why we call it that. I mean it isn't a sanctuary anymore it's the dark forces playground. I still remember that night that we left.

...

I open my eyes to a scream. The normal below Celsius temperature of the castle has been broken as heat radiates everywhere. I jump out of bed and grabbing my bedside sword, I run down to the throne room to see what exactly was going on. Smoke enters my lungs as I struggle to breath.
