"Tutor you?" I laughed, shaking my head. "I don't think that's a good idea."
"Why not Chels? You're smart, and a great teacher. Help your old pal out."
"Don't say old pal it sounds weird." I grunted. "It sounds so awkward."
"Well what do you want me to say? Ex-boyfriend?"
"Just don't say anything." I laughed. "If you really need me to tutor you, I guess I will."
"Thank you." Calum smiled, ruffling up my hair. "So when're you free? Today, tomorrow?"
"Today I'm going out, but tomorrow sounds okay." I muttered, rolling my eyes.
"Okay, so we can meet at my house, or yours." He offered after I glared angrily at him.
"Mine is fine. I learned to have people come see me from now on."
"What time are you free?"
"We could just walk together after school or something."
"Are you sure?" He asked in a panicked manner, causing me to laugh. "I know where you live, I could walk on my own. I don't want anybody getting annoyed with my presence."
"It's not that serious."
"It is." He began. "I was bothered with you always hanging around Luke and now look what happened."
"You were bothered?" I asked, not even filtering the question through my mind before I had asked.
"Well yeah." He muttered, kicking a rock against my locker. "Who wouldn't be bothered by one of the most popular guys in school spending a bunch of time with their girlfriend? Luke pretty much had a relationship with every girl here except you."
"You're right." I said quietly, remembering how Luke used to act. "It's embarrassing." I laughed.
"What is?"
"To be dating the school's biggest tool."
"He isn't a tool."
"Well of course not." I mumbled sarcastically. "He's sweet, and kind, and super charming. But then you think about the drinking and smoking, and all the hookups he's had and you can't think anything other that 'he's such a pig'. --But I can't say that."
"Why not?"
"Because he's my boyfriend, and in some kind of weird, extra terrestrial way, I love him, and when you care so much about somebody, you'd do anything to make sure they don't get hurt."
Calum shrugged, scrunching his nose up, then shaking his head, agreeing with me. "In a way he's a great guy, good friend ya know? But I haven't talked to him in about a month or so, so I can't say much."
"You guys haven't talked?" I asked, worried that I tore apart a friendship.
"Nope.-- But it's not your fault." He said quickly, knowing that I was upset by his bitter answer. "He and I really weren't friends before anyways."
"I guess."
"I miss you." He said quietly, breaking our awkward silence that began.
"--Miss you too."
"You do?"
"Yeah." I mumbled. "I miss you warm hugs, and the taste of your lips."
"Then why don't we get back together?" He pleaded.
"You didn't want to."
"I didn't want to?"
"Yes Calum. You. You were the one that wouldn't give me time to get Luke out of my hair, and now look."
"I couldn't date you while you were dating someone else, that would make you look bad. I was protecting you."
"No you weren't." I laughed.
I rolled my eyes to make my tears disappear, and asked Calum to leave me be so if I were to cry, I'd be alone while doing so. It's not that I was annoyed by him or anything, I was just, uncomfortable. I knew what he was trying to do, and it was working. He knew Luke somehow managed to make his way into my heart from me tutoring him, and he assumed that he would be able to do the same. I was happy that Calum was trying to get me back, even though I wasn't too fond of the way he was doing it. It was nice that the effort was being shown, however he had his chance and he unfortunately wasted it.
I do regret leaving things the way I had though, I shouldn't have been so childish and arrogant, but I did, and it was wrong of me to do. It probably would've been better if I talked out the situation with him, but I didn't and every day I ponder on how things would be if I did. It's quiet irritable though, ---the way the band hasn't even had a practice since Calum and I ended. I doubt Luke and Calum even talked anymore. Michael and Ashton just followed Luke like puppy dogs, so in a way I guess you could say that Calum was alone now. Other than those three boys, I was all Calum had, and now Luke had taken me from him, and he was singled out. And maybe that was his plan. To take me away from Calum, maybe it was just another way to tear my heart apart.
"What were you doing?" I heard somebody ask as I quickly sniffled away my tears.
"Nothing." I stuttered, turning around with Michael right in my face. "I was just-"
"Talking to Calum? I saw. You know, Luke won't be too happy hearing about this."
"Oh please." I muttered. "It's not like we "did" anything."
"You're going to tutor him?"
I froze, pondering on what to say to him, since I basically had no way out of this question.
"Well yeah but-"
"There is no but. You're an easy one Ziranda. You let Luke take you from him, and you could easily let him do the same."
"But I won't."
"There's no buts!" Michaels yelped loudly. As people around us began to glare at him, he hushed out of embarrassment, and then began to restate everything he had previously said.
"Don't worry about it." I muttered.
"I'm telling Luke."
"Do it."
