"Where are you?" Luke asked, as I gasped realizing I had forgot to tell him that I had to finish my test.

"I'll be there soon, I'm just finishing a few problems."

"Are you fucking serious?" He asked loudly. "Chelsea?" He asked again as I hung up the phone.

I finished my Calc test in a couple of minutes, rushing to get over to Luke's house since he obviously sounded upset over the phone. Using my short legs, I ran in a somewhat slow manner, getting to his house about 15 minutes later, gasping for air as I walked up to his door step.

"I don't even see my friends no more cause I keep hanging out with you." I heard somebody sing from Luke's upstairs floor. "I like that!" I heard him laugh.

And I knew that was his laugh, because Luke had a very unique laugh, nobody else could laugh like him, no matter how much he tried. His laugh was like a sickness that was contagious, because no matter who heard it, they laughed along with him.

"I don't know how you kept me-" I heard him sing before I knocked onto the door. I waited, hearing loud footsteps from the other side of the door and before I knew it, a six-foot giant was standing above me. "Look who decided to show up." He sighed.

"Luke I had to finish my Calc test!"

"Why didn't you finish in class like I did?"

"All you did was bullshit the answers." I protested.

"So." He said bluntly, rolling his eyes.

"So." I sighed. "I have more of an excuse than you do."

"What do I need an excuse for?"

"Well you don't." I muttered. "It just-"

"That's what I thought." He laughed, finally allowing me inside. I kept my cool with him since I did feel terrible about not telling him I'd be late.

"So were you listening to music?" I asked as we walked upstairs, indirectly mentioning that I had heard him sing.

"What do you mean?"

"I heard music before I knocked on the door. It sounded pretty good. Who was it? I ought to start listening to them."

"Oh really?" He smiled, smirking as he walked into his music room. I followed him and sat onto a stool, looking at his music stand. His sheet music was spread onto it, and I was dying to see it. If only I could get him out of the room.

"Did you hear that?" I asked, trying hard to keep my laughter to myself. I wouldn't be described as the best liar in my family. My younger brother and sister were definitely the ones in my family who were gifted with that whole lying feature.

"Hear what?" He asked, raising his eyebrow.

"Downstairs." I mumbled. "Go check."

"It's probably nothing." He sighed, walking closer to me.

"Luke go check!" I said sternly, causing him to stumble back.

"Fine I'll check." He said sarcastically, rubbing the bottom of his chin.

Once he was out of his room, I ran towards his music stand nearly knocking it over as I examined it, causing my eyes to go wide, as I read the names that were written on the paper.

There were certain sections for every member of this apparent, band.

Luke.

Ashton.

Michael.

and Calum.

Like my Calum?

As I heard Luke's footsteps coming back up the steps, I put the sheet music back into it's place and ran back to where I had been before, acting as if I was still scared.

"Nothing was there." He laughed, stretching his arm behind his head.

"Oh god, that's relieving." I sighed, letting out a deep breath of air. "Anyways, tell me more about your music, who's in your band?"

"It's me, Ashton, Mikey, and Caaa-Meron"

"Caaa-meron?"

"His name is Cameron. Cameron uh- Haad."

"Haad?" I laughed, realizing how terrible of a liar Luke was.

"Yeah. I've known him for awhile. I asked him to be apart of the band a few months ago."

"Is he good?" I asked, wondering if he would compliment him.

"He's the best, I mean you're good too, but like Cal-Cameron, he's the best."

"I'd love to meet him one day!"

"You've never met him?" Luke asked, somewhat surprised.

"I don't think so, I don't know any Cameron's to be honest. He seems good though."

"One day." Luke mumbled, realizing his sheet music was out, causing him to stuff it away.

"What's that?" I asked, even though I already had rummaged through his surprisingly clean room.

"It's nothing, just a stupid song I'm writing about someone."

"About who? Is it a love song?"

"I mean, I guess. It's called Voodoo Doll."

"Will you sing me it?" I asked, wanting to hear what it sounded like rather than just seeing the words.

"I can't, I mean I have no other musicians, it'll just sound weird."

"An acoustic?" I pleaded.

"Still. There won't be a rhythm. I need Ash to play with me or no go."

"Luke c'mon." I whined. "At least let me see it?"

"Ugh fine." He muttered, going back to his drawer. "You're so annoying Charity."

I rolled my eyes at the nickname he had given me back in seventh grade and waited for him to begin his song. I heard him as he cleared his throat, then began, scanning the lyrics as if it was a bible.

"I don't even like you, why'd you want to go and make me feel this way? And I don't understand what's happened, I keep saying things I've never said. ---Then this is Michael's part, then Cameron's part, now back to mine--- I don't even see my friends no more cause I keep hanging out with you. --- And that's all I have so far."

"Liar." I muttered under my smile. "I like that, it's really good! Who's it about?"

"Just this girl." He smiled, turning away to hide his obvious blushing.

"Who?" I demanded, walking closer to him to get it out of him. "Who is she? Does she go to our school?"

"Chelsea quit it." He laughed as I tickled him.

"Seriously Luke! Who's this girl that has you trapped under her spell?"

"Huh?" He asked, making me realize that he hadn't sang that part to me and that was from what I had read.

"Nothing." I mumbled. "Who is she?"

"Just a girl. She's not that important, it's whatever."

"Luuuuuke." I stammered. "Come on, just tell her you like her! You never know what she'll say! Tell her, do something! It's not like she's gonna ignore you for the rest of your life, just grow a pair and-" I mumbled, struggling to be released from Luke's grasp as I realized that in that moment I was kissed by Luke Hemmings.
