Tara
I chased Kai around the playground listening to her squeals and giggles.
"Daddy, help!" She giggled.
I felt arms wrap around me and lift me from the ground.
"Christian, put me down!" I shouted while laughing.
"I'm sorry. I can't do that."
He swung me around as I kept laughing uncontrollably until he finally put me down.
"Ice cweam!" Kai jumped up and down as she pointed at the ice cream truck.
"You don't need any ice cream." I said making her frown.
"Come on, let her have some ice cream. Don't be a meanie, Tare-Bear." He pinched my cheeks.
I playfully rolled my eyes, "Fine."
Kai grabbed my hand and pulled me towards the truck. She's so strong for a two-year old.
"Skwabewy, pwease." Kailani told the man.
"You have to wait, Bri." I heard the last voice I wanted to hear behind me.
The man handed me the ice cream cone once I gave him the money.
"Mommy." Kai whined when I didn't hand it to her right away.
"Wait until we sit down."
Last time she dropped the cone on the ground and she cried until I bought her a new one.
"Tara." I heard him call out to me making me groan.
"Go over there with daddy, and be extra careful because I'm not getting another cone." I said to Kai as I handed her the cone.
She walked off and I turned to August, "What do you want?"
"Why do you keep treating me like I'm your worst enemy?" He asked.
"Because you are, August."
A woman walked up and took the come from August to give to the little girl, who I assume is Bri. Then I realized that woman was Shannie.
"Hey, Tara." She flashed a smile.
"Shannie." I returned the gesture with a fake smile.
She kissed August's cheek and walked off with Bri.
"I see you two are still going strong." I said. "Is that your daughter?"
He slowly nodded, "Her name is Aubria."
"That's pretty. How old is she." I tilted my head to the side.
He cleared his throat, "Two."
I chuckled, wanting to punch him in his face. How can you get two women pregnant at the same time and only choose to take care of one?
"So you have no problem taking care of Aubria, but you do have a problem taking care of Kailani?" I scoffed.
"I didn't mean to just leave out of her life."
"But you did."
"Can I see her?" He asked.
"I have to think about it." I tried to walk away but he grabbed my arm.
He examined my tattoos, "Are these new?"
I gave him a weird look, "Uh, yeah."
"You know, I know right." He looked at me.
"Know what?"
"Don't play dumb, Tara. I know those hazel eyes when I see them. Not to mention that big tattoo on your back that I can't forget. I've bent you over countless times so I know that tattoo when I see it." He smirked. "I'll see you around, Wynter."
