Tara
I dribbled the ball before making a shot into the basket. I miss things like boxing and basketball. Once I had Kai I didn't have much free time on my hands.
But whenever she's gone I try to brush up on my skills. Believe me, I love my daughter, but I just wish I was still able to do the things that I love.
If I were to box like I planned, it would be too much moving for Kai and I didn't want to uproot her every time I had to leave. And I damn sure wasn't leaving her with some nanny for months.
"You trying to play one on one?" Christian asked as he came out of the back door.
"Why, so you can just get your ass beat?" I teased.
"You sure about that?" He took his shirt off making me lick my lips.
"I'm positive."
"Okay, let's make a bet." He raised his chin up at me.
"Alright." I shrugged.
"Whoever gets to twenty points first, wins. Loser has to do whatever the winner wants." He smirked. "When I win I want to take you on a date."
I haven't been on a date since August and I'm honestly skeptical of going on one. I'm skeptical of dating or trusting any man.
Who's to say that the next man that I let in my life won't leave me just like August.
"I-I don't know." I gave him an unsure look. It was pretty evident to him that I was a little uneasy about his offer.
"You can trust me. I'm not here to leave you like he did. If I was going to I wouldn't be here right now." He reasoned.
I could trust him, but at the same time I couldn't. He did do the same thing August did to me. It might have been a long time ago, but I will never forget that heartbreak.
My trust was practically gone after him, August was the icing on the cake for me.
But I can't give him the satisfaction of having some sort of power over me.
"....Okay, I'll go on a date with you, but if I win then you have to do whatever I tell you to for two weeks."
"I'll win." He said before taking his position.
I bounced the ball as he tried to snatch it from me. I spun around him, making a shot into the basket.
"That was a lucky shot." He muttered under his breath.
"I don't need luck." I stated cockily before taking off my old jersey, revealing my sports bra.
"Now you're just playing with me." Christian complained looking at my chest.
I shrugged before snatching the ball from him. I dribbled the ball with one hand while Chris gained up behind me. He caught me off guard by grabbing a handful off my butt, giving him the chance to steal the ball.
I huffed, watching him dunk the ball. He flashed an innocent smile making me roll my eyes.
"That's cheating." I whined.
"There's no rules in street basketball." He kissed my cheek and sent a nice, hard slap to my backside making me jump in surprise.
Towards the end of the game we both were tied and one of us had to make this last shot.
Right when I was about to run to the basket to make my shot Christian stole the ball and made the winning shot.
"I told you I was going to win." He grinned while picking up his shirt. "Be ready at seven tonight, wear something nice for me." He chucked up the dueces as he left.
