CHAPTER EIGHTEEN

Mikey's POV

I stared at Alicia, who was furiously typing away on her laptop. She hasn't said a word about the baby. She puts on a happy face and goes about her day, but she hardly says a single word to anyone. She told Ray that he needed to go talk to Christa, that it wasn't worth losing his baby over. So she set up a meeting for the two of them today at Starbucks. He left 20 minutes ago. She has hardly said 10 words to me all week though. I'm going to try to get her to talk to me today.

"'Licia" I said quietly. She never looked up, never even slowed her typing. "Alicia" I said again. Still nothing. "Alicia please. Please talk to me. Please" I whispered, starting to cry. She paused her typing for a moment, but then resumed without a word. "Alicia please, at least look at me, please" I said in a whisper, tears starting to roll down my cheeks. She didn't even pause this time. "Alicia!" I sobbed, losing my control. "Is this how it's going to be? You never talking to me?" No answer. "Alicia I can't live like this anymore. I knew you needed time to regroup after the baby and I gave you that. I needed it too. But this is starting to be too much. It was the worst thing that has ever happened to us, but we are supposed to be able to get through it TOGETHER. Not push eachother away." She paused again for a moment, sat back a little from her laptop, but still said nothing. "I love you Alicia" I whispered. "More than anything. I need you to stop shutting me out. I love you so so much." A single tear rolled down her cheek. I just watched her for some sort of reaction.

Eventually she pushed the laptop towards me. I spun it around so the screen was facing me. The image displayed on the screen was the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. It was a collage, full of pictures of our family. There were our wedding pictures, pictures of us together when we were dating, pictures of us hanging out with the rest of the family, Bandit, Cherry, Lily, and right in the center of the collage were the pictures of Braden taken with the ultrasound.

She gave me time to just stare at the screen. I jumped at the sound of her voice. "I love you too Mikey" she whispered, finally looking into my eyes for the first time in weeks. They were bloodshot and she looked all around drained with the events of the past few months. But looked beautiful. I smiled ever so slighty, breaking into a huge grin when she started to smile as well.

"I know I have been acting like an immature little kid Mikey. But I just needed to get an idea in my head of what's next. Thank you for not giving up on me. Most people would have. I just needed time to vent and release all my negative feelings towards the world. I love you" she finished, standing up. She walked over to me and wrapped her arms around my neck, burying her face in my shoulder. My arms automatically fell around her waste, drawing her closer. We clung to eachother for a while, before I grabbed her hand and pulled her to the couch with me. I placed her on my lap and clutched her close to my chest.

"What's next honey?" She smiled at me. "We're going to move on. We're going to love eachother completely and never shut eachother out. We're going spend time with the family. We're going to be there for Ray, because now might be when he needs it most. We're going to have eachother no matter what, and most importantly, we're going to have fun." "I'm so glad I've got my wife back" I whispered to her before our lips met fiercely.
