I Don't Love You

CHAPTER THREE

I looked at Mikey with a blank expression, trying to hide my emotions. "I'm sorry I had to tell you like this Mikey" I whispered. He looked like he had seen a ghost. His eyes were wide and his face pale. Cleary, he was expecting the worse. If only he knew.... I thought. Well get on with it and tell them my mind argued. But what if he isn't happy? Here goes nothing.

I took Ray's hand. He was still gazing at me intently. Probably trying to figure out what I was going to say. "Ray" I said, but I was looking at Frank. I finally looked at Ray again and said "You need to be strong". "Why?" he asked, looking hopeless. I could hear the tears in his voice. "Because... You're going to be an Uncle." Frank squealed. Like a real squeal, teenage girl style. I smiled a little at that. Gee started to clap. Ray's face brightened a little and he stopped crying. I finally got the courage to look at Mikey. He was looking at my stomach. He looked back up, into my eyes. I clenched my fists. I was terrified to see his reaction. Slowly a grin spread across his face. He had never looked so happy in all the years that I had known him. I felt myself start grinning as well. I leaned towards Mikey. He pulled me into his arms and kissed the top of my head. He tilted my face upwards and kissed me gently. Then he leaned down and kissed my stomach lightly. He looked into my eyes again and whispered ''I love you''. ''I love you too''.

Gee suddenly shouted ''My baby brother's gonna be a daddy''! Mikey looked shocked at that. ''I'm gonna be a daddy'' he whispered to himself. ''I'm gonna be a daddy''! He shouted, jumping up and down. I couldn't stop smiling. This was great! I pulled Mikey aside and said ''Mikey I had to tell you like that, I needed to make Ray smile''. ''I know'' he said. He didn't seem to care that I had told him like that.

Frank broke into our conversation by asking ''How long have you know 'Licia?" "I found out this morning. I was going to wait until tomorrow to tell Mikey, but I thought that now would be a better time". "Thank you" Ray said. "Thank you?" "You told us now because you knew it would make me happy. And it did. Thank you for that". "Ray, you're my best friend and I can't bear to see you down. I had to at least make an effort to see you smile". He smiled at that. He came over and gave me a hug. "GROUP HUG"! Frank shouted, pulling Gee and Mikey towards me and Ray.

"I think that we need to call LynZ and Jamia and get them over here. They should be here too" Gee said. Ray and Mikey nodded. Frank walked off to go and call.

Mikey pulled me into his arms again. "We're gonna be a big, happy family". I could feel him smiling against my cheek as he said that. It was true. Our family had our really rough patches, like the fights with Ray and Christa and when Gee was still having drug and drinking problems, but we always get past it. I think that a baby is just what we need right now to make everyone loosen up. Bandit and Cherry and Lily could use another little one to play with.

LynZ and Jamia arrived with sleeping kids in their arms about 30 minutes later. They were both smiling widely, although Jamia appeared to be struggling to hold both Cherry and Lily. Frank rushed over and took Lily, giving Jamia a quick kiss in the process. They lay the girls down on the couch, wrapping a big blanket around them. They looked so peaceful. I can't wait for Mikey and I to have a house full of kids. Mikey seemed to read my thoughts, giving me a quick hug and whispering in my ear "We'll be parents soon enough. For now we'll just have to settle for being the best aunt and uncle we can be".

Frank went over to the stereo and turned on Leathermouth. LynZ gave him a look and said "That is not exactly child appropriate music Frank". Frank feigned hurt, but changed the music. Apparently Bandit has a great taste in music, because as soon as a Taylor Swift song came on, she woke up and looked around. "Auntie 'Licia!" she squealed, running over to me a giving me a hug. "Why don't you go wake up our cousins Bandit?" I asked her. She nodded and ran off to the couch screeching Cherry and Lily's names. They got up and started dancing with Bandit, until Frank went over to them and whispered something. They were nodding excitedly and as soon as Frank walked away from them with a smirk on his face, they all jumped and tackled Ray.

Frank was a genius! Ray had always had a soft spot for those three. He couldn't resist their childish charm. Ray was actually smiling, but I felt somewhat bad for him because he had three sets of hands caught in his crazy hair. Mikey cleared his throat and the girls slid off of Ray and looked at Mikey. Ray looked somewhat relieved. "Girls, Auntie Alicia and I have something to tell you" Mikey said. They instantly looked excited. "I'm going to have a baby" I told them. It was adorable the way their little faces lit up once they realized what that meant. "We gonna have 'nother cousin Auntie 'Licia?" Cherry asked me. I nodded. They all squealed excitedly and gave me a hug.

LynZ went upstairs with Jamia and brought down more coffee and some cereal for the kids. I looked at my watch. We had stayed up all night! Mikey must have sensed my alarm, because he giggled at me. I hit him playfully, but he caught my wrist and pulled me into him. We gazed into each other's eyes for a moment before he kissed me softly. "EWWWWW!" Lily cried, causing us to break the kiss and start laughing. "Sorry Lil" Mikey laughed, ruffling her hair affectionately. He was going to be a great dad.
