I woke up when there was a knock at my front door. Sandy began to bark and I immediately smiled. The knocking continued and I rolled out of bed, "Wes, it is way too early to go eat breakfast." I shouted after glancing at the kitchen clock to see that it was seven o'clock, "Give me a minute!" I shouted as loud as I could in my morning voice as I put on a pair of pajama pants and went to the bathroom to brush my teeth. Sandy followed me towards the front door, "Wes, it is way too early for-" I opened the door to see Wes' roommate standing outside of my door. Sandy began to bark and I lifted her off of the ground, "Joven, hi?" I said awkwardly and let him into my apartment.

"Wes told me that you got a new puppy and that I could come meet her," he told me. I handed him Sandy and awkwardly crossed my arms over my chest.

"I'll be right back," I said, leaving the room to change into more appropriate pajamas. I texted Wes, then walked back out of my room. When I got back Joven was giving Sandy commands and she was obeying him, "How did you do that?" I asked, leaning on the arm rest to the couch and watching him.

"Easy," he told me and handed me a piece of dog food, "Sit Sandy!" He said loudly and showed her the food. The pup sat and smiled up at us, "Speak!" She barked and Joven gave her the bite of dog food.

"Are you like a dog whisperer?" I asked with a laugh as I tried to get him to roll over.

Joven got down on his hands and knees while telling Sandy to roll over. After a few attempts she finally rolled and got a piece of dog food, "She is adorable." He said petting her soft fur as he moved to sit on the couch, "I'm sorry for waking you up this morning, but I know Wes probably didn't want me to come here."

"Why not?" I asked with a light laugh as Sandy tried to climb up my leg. I lifted her onto my lap, "I thought he said for you to come meet Sandy."

"Yes," he said hesitantly as he nodded, "but that was last night and I'm sure he didn't mean it seriously."

I lightly laughed, "Well it's fine. It was just a surprise." I said happily, "Sandy loves meeting new people." I said with a light laugh.

After another half hour of talking happily to Joven there was a knock on the door. I opened the door to see Wes. His hair wasn't combed and he was wearing black pants that had multiple zippers around the pocket area, "New look?" I asked with a light laugh and he finally began to smile when his eyes met mine. He looked past me and spotted Joven sitting on the couch.

His smile fell, "Joven!" He shouted and entered my apartment. I shut the door behind him and walked into the living area with them.

"You said I could!" Joven said defensively as he rose to his feet and held Sandy in front of his face, "You wouldn't strike a cute, innocent puppy." He said with a pouty face as he nuzzled her.

"You could've at least told me that you were coming here," We said with a slight laugh, "So I could have told her that you were coming. We had plans this morning."

"I'm not trying to intrude," Joven said, placing Sandy on the floor. She ran towards me and I lifted her into my arms, "I won't tag along."

"Why not?" I asked with a shrug and both of their heads snapped to look in my direction, "It could be fun." I saw Wes pause and I awkwardly looked down at Sandy.

"I mean, if everyone is okay with that," Joven and Wes turned to face each other, then turned to look at me.

"I was thinking that we could go to Waffle Zone," I said, turning to look at Joven, "But after we have to go to the studio, so you have to ride alone."

"Yeah," he said, awkwardly nodding, "Of course."

"I'll go get ready," I told them and placed Sandy on the ground. I walked into my room and changed into a small black dress. I curled my hair into large curls, then exited my room to find them laying next to one another on the living room floor. Sandy was sitting on Wes' chest, it was the cutest thing I've ever seen. He made a cute noise and said her name. Sandy leaned down and placed her nose against his nose. I couldn't help but smile, "Sandy!" I called quietly and she jumped off of Wes chest. Wes glanced up at me as I lifted Sandy into the air, "Hey girl," I said to her, "Mommy is going to have to leave you outside for a little while." I told her, "but I promise to come back." I kissed her little nose and pulled her against me.

Wes and Joven crawled off of the ground and they followed me towards the small back yard portion of my apartment. There was a small grass area with a concrete path to the sliding doors that was surrounded by a tall gate. I had set up a shaded area along the side of the apartment for her to lay while the sun was high. Wes moved her food and water bowl outside and we quickly re entered the house. Sandy ran up to the door barking and as we stepped back she began to howl.

"I'll go put shoes on and we should be ready to leave," I said, "Don't fall for it." I said pointing to the door, "Keep her outside." I quickly walked into my room and slipped my feet into a pair of matching black sandals, "I left her in last night and she peed on the kitchen floor."

"You have to train her," Joven said as if it were common sense.

"I haven't had a dog since high school," I told him, "and my parents did all that."

"It's really simple once you get the hang of it," he told me, "You have to do it while they are young."

"Well maybe you can do it for me." He shrugged his shoulders.

"I wouldn't mind." He told me as we all walked towards the front door and exited my apartment.
