"Ah...alone again."
Balling up on the floor in front of the entrance was the only comfort I had at the moment.
Who am I kidding, exactly? No comfort will be given this time. Kuro left. My parents are dead...my only family and the only one I trusted...betrayed me.
...I didn't even get to sing the song I remember my parents told me to play as well every afternoon at tea.
...when I was naive.
...when I actually had something, what was it? I've forgotten.
How many hours has it been? I can't tell...the memories keep me occupied. Motionless, tired, and my body aches. How long has it been?
How could you Haru? I...trusted you. I wasn't ready to tell them, not yet. Why did you tell them now?
'DING DONG! KNOCK KNOCK!'
I had no energy to stand. I didn't even want to move from my spot anyways. Crying while walking home takes a lot of effort, you know?
The pounding on the door continued, I already knew who it was, and it wasn't long until that person spoke."MARU! IM S-SO SORRY! P-PLEASE...open the door...I'm sorry..."
...Haru.
The voice in my head was repeating to open the door, but the betrayal penetrated my heart all the way through.
"RU-CHAN! OPEN THE DOOR, PLEASE!"
...Mitsukuni.
"MARU! PLEASE OPEN THE DOOR!"
...Tamaki?
"Maru...please..."
...Mori?
"Hey, Kitsune, open the door please."
...Kyoya...
"Come on Maru-"
"-what are you scared of?!-"
"-WHAT ARE YOU RUNNING FROM?!"
...Hikaru, Kaoru...
"PLEASE MARU! I-I'M SORRY! PLEASE...I don't want to lose you, I don't want to lose y-you like mom, or h-how you lost your f-family. I PROMISED, DIDN'T I?! I PROMISED I'D STAY BY YOUR SIDE NO MATTER WHAT! I PROMI-"
I couldn't bear her crying. I couldn't bear her desperate calls. I couldn't hold the grudge against my only true family left. The host club...everyone...they came.
I felt, at that moment, I was being freed.
I stagger up to my feet, newfound tears made their way down my face. I swung the door open, denting the wall slightly.
Tears flew from my face when I lunged myself onto Haruhi, burying my head into her waist, kneeling on the ground, crying.
I don't care anymore.
My secret, be told.
My tears, be shown.
My pain...I have something to heal with.
"H-Haru...you...I wasn't ready to tell them yet...especially not this week..."
Haru slowly got down, kneeling as well. Our cries mixed together.
"I k-know! I knew you were going to tell them after this week! I KNEW! And I told...I-I'm sorry Maru!"
I hated how bad my body was shaking. I hated that the others saw me like this. Did I care at the moment? No. I had my cousin back.
I remember the something I had...a family...and now...I have another.
"H-Haru...you promise to n-never disappear?"
She looked at me...with a emotion my eyes couldn't even tell.
"I promised, didn't I?"
She wipes away her tears, standing up. My eyes followed her every movement.
"And I promise, they will too."
I was still on the ground. Messed up hair, old and new tear stains on my cheeks, and my amber-red eyes glazed. If it turn to them, I know I'll cry.
So, why not?
"Everyone...I'm sorry!"
I held my head up. My pride put in the very back of my mind for now.
"I lied...I've hidden...I-"
For the, I don't know, thousandth time this week, I was cut off because of hugs.
"It's alright Maru! Daddy forgives you!"
I was huddled in Tamaki's, the twin's, Honey's, and Haruhi's arms. My crying slowly softened after a few minutes, soft warm lips pressed against my temples. The twins pull away smiling at me, before Tamaki places one on my forehead. Honey kissed my left cheek, Mori pecking my right. I look down in slight embarrassment when the strange feeling returned. Polished black shoes came into my line of site. I raise my head up, only for one last pair of lips pecking my nose.
"Now, I believe, 'Mr.' Kitsune, that you'll have to return to school sooner or later. Though you are the prodigy child, it doesn't mean your scholarship will stay."
"You know...you truly are a shadow king."
With the help of Haruhi, she helps me stand. I walk over to my slammed door to lean my back on my doorframe.
"Well, since you're here, allow me to invite you inside for some tea. I'll explain...everything."
I catch Kyoya readying his death note.
They all excitedly walked into my decent sized house.
When their backs were turned, I grinned, letting out a small snicker for only myself to hear...little did I know that another heard.
