A slap resounded the room.
"I hate you."
The side of my face stung, but the words that left my mouth must've stung worst.
I couldn't stop myself before continuing.
"You never listen to reason. You expect you're right, that you should know, and you think you know more than me. What kind of cousin are you? Telling people to trust, when you don't believe or trust in that person yourself? You truly are horrible...
"How horrible Haruhi."
Haruhi stands in front of me, casting a shock-filled gaze upon me. She held her hand as if THAT actually hurt.
The pain in my cheek was still so new...
I thought I was used to beatings...
But...
It hurts so much.
The kettle whistled in the background.
"Hey Maru, Haruhi, you need he-"
Hikaru stops in the middle of his sentence, and rushes up to me.
"Maru, what happened to your cheek?! Haruhi! What did you do?!"
Hikaru cupped the side with the bruise gently, nearing his face to try and meet my eyes that were casted to the side.
The shouting caused the others to come in and come to me with worry.
"Hikaru, what happened?"
"I don't know, Kaoru, take Maru and treat her bruise...I have to speak with Haruhi."
"And we'd like to know."
The hosts surrounded Haruhi with disappointed looks. Without another word spoken, Kaoru dragged me away.
"Heh, I don't know where I'm going since you still haven't given us that tour."
He flashed a grin at me, making me lift my spirits by a smidgen.
I tugged his wrist slightly, making him stop. I removed his hand that grabbed my wrist to lace my fingers with his. I walked in front of him a gently lead him. I mumble the directions I memorized when Kuro and I first moved here.
"Straight, right hallway..."
'...up the spiral staircase to the top, last door on the right...'
"...here."
We enter my bland room.
"Where are you bandaids? I'll grab them-"
He forgot he was still holding my hand, so when he walked, he tugged me, taking me by surprise.
I didn't have enough time to stop myself from falling...
But I landed on something firm.
"I-I'm s-sorry! I-I forg-got that I was s-still holding your h-hand-!"
When he tried to hurriedly get up, he knocked into my forehead...
...his lips accidentally brushing mine.
We scooted away from each other, averting our eyes away from the other.
But in the end, I had to look up.
He was already staring back with his bright brown eyes. He was stiff, his face serious.
