"So...why did you guys decide to have 'dinner' at 2 am in the morning? You gain weight by eating so late."
Everyone's eyes widened. They turned their heads to the large, antic click on the wall. Slowly, their expressions turned to blank.
The clock currently read 4:00 am, and Maru still hasn't returned from the hospital.
"Well, at least we called all our parents/guardians that we'd be staying the night...that's the good thing, I guess, otherwise, dad would kill me."
Haruhi shivers at the thought.
"Hm? Okay I guess. Not really me responsibility. Well...I'm actually more curious as to where the princess and the doofus ran off to this time. I haven't been getting any disturbing calls from Kurosine recently, and as pleasant as that may be, it's sort of bothering me."
Haruhi surprisingly smiled slightly at Shui.
"You didn't know."
Immediately, Shui's gaze narrowed at the girl, suspicion quickly growing in the pit of his stomach.
"Is it about the 'business' lil' Ru had to deal with when you called?"
Haruhi closed her eyes, her smile, looking solemn, stayed on her face.
The man sitting across from her with nothing but a empty, stained plate, visibly grits his teeth.
Crossing his arms, he spoke again.
"Tell me what's going on, girly."
Haruhi finally opens her eyes, using one breath to explain it all.
The explanation he needs only needs on breath anyways.
"Kurosine-san has cancer."
Everyone suspected everything for the man's reaction, but never to see him loosen his expression and tense muscles. He flutters his eyes closed peacefully, keeping his arms still crossed.
He stayed in that position for such a while, that the others thought he ended up falling asleep, so it was hard to not jump when he started muttering and having a conversation with himself.
"I keep on telling that guy to die, but I didn't think he'd actually have a chance in dying. Ugh, and he still owes me over a hundred favors...so he can't die. I'll just drag him out of hell...yeah."
He opens his teal eyes, his black hair with red highlighted at the tips slightly swooshed when he moved his gaze onto the group that looked at him curiously.
He sighed.
"Listen, that man can't die. It's just impossible. And besides, the doofus he is, heaven nor hell could stand the bastard. So off that topic, tell me, what are your names."
It takes a moment for anyone to respond to...well...that. I mean, who wouldn't? His seemly 'best friend' is at the hospital diagnosed with cancer, with the high chance of death, and the patient's so called 'best friend' doesn't let the information depress him in the slightest.
"Well, Mr. Jiwarakata, I am Ootori, Kyoya. Vice President of the club Ms. Kitsune is in."
Kyoya's charming smile made him sparkle as he spoke.
