Camila woke up to the smell of eggs and the feeling of soft blankets around her.
"Hey, want some food? I figured I make some before we go and visit Gerald..only if you want." Lauren asked, noticing the smaller girl has awoken.
Camila shook her head, not understanding a bit of what was happening. "I don't understand, why do you sudden care?" She made her way to where Lauren's voice was coming from and found herself in the hotel's small practical living room.
Sighing, Lauren flipped the eggs and lowered the heat. "This is about you, Camila. You care about him so I'm going to do my very best in making sure you see him and know he's okay."
She didn't understand the sudden change, but then again she didn't understand anything at this point. It wasn't that she didn't care about Lauren's attempt to make her feel as if her feelings and emotions were welcomed and okay, but it was odd. Lauren was never the type to do such a thing, and it was bothering Camila.
"He's gonna be okay, right?" Camila mumbled, sitting down on the small couch that was placed in the hotel room.
After a moment of silence, Lauren placed the eggs onto plates and the pan into the sink. "I don't know, maybe. I'd like to think so." The lack of confidence in her response made Camila worry a bit more, but it made logical sense since Lauren was in no way properly educated in the medical field.
"How did you, uh, get plates and stuff?" She asked slowly, looking down at the floor beneath her. "I went to the store earlier, and I figured we needed some stuff so I went out and bought some."
The feeling of guilt suddenly took of Camila's body; Lauren didn't have to spend money on Camila, let alone the both of them. "We aren't staying here very long, are we?"
Lauren sighed and began messing with her eggs with her fork, not really wanting to make eye contact with her. "Yeah, but that's only because Gerald needs to be on rest and you're apart of his tour team. i don't think he's going to be performing for very long, so we can stay here if you want. If you want, we can leave somewhere else if you want to stay in a low profile term.
Not knowing how to respond, Camila took a bite of her eggs and sighed slightly. It wasn't that she didn't want to stay here, but the fact she was with Lauren made her feel uncomfortable. Lauren has been changing her moods too quickly for Camila to even grasp, and it makes it even more stressful that she's going back and forth between caring about Gerald and Camila and deciding not to. The whole situation is too much for her to handle, and at this point, Lauren is the last person she really wants to spend her time with.
"It's fine if you don't want to, I totally understand. If you want to move in with your parents that's fine too. It's all up to you, Camz."
"I can't do anything on my own anymore. It's like, It's like I can't even go another day without having worries draining me, holding me hostage."
Lauren narrowed her eyes, making Camila feel as if she felt sorry for the younger girl. "If you can't do anything on your own, let me help you."
Camila tensed up, feeling awkward a bit. She's not the one who needs help, Gerald is. Gerald needs help and he needs support, Camila is the last of everyone's worries. It's not as if she's the one who passed out in front of thousands, and she's not the one with an enlarged heart.
"I can mana-"
"You can't manage. Let me help you, please."
The words took a while to sink into Camila's brain, but they just so did. Camila finally nodded and placed her plate in the sink, walking and sitting back to Lauren who seemed awfully different today.
"Fine."
"Thank you, for letting me help you." Lauren said, smiling a bit. It wasn't extremely rare to see her smile, but it was weird for Camila especially given the time being.
"It's uh, no problem. I guess we can be like roommates or something like that, yeah?" Camila asked, tilting her head to the side a bit afterwards.
"Yeah, roommates. Nothing more, nothing less."
The thought of living with Lauren scared Camila, but she had to make with what do. It's out of her reach to move in with her parents, hencing they are still in another country and can't reach her. Camila's parents never really understood her dreams and pursuits, so they tried their best ot let their oldest daughter do what she pleased and only come to them in a horrific emergency. Not that this wasn't an emergency, but she didn't feel the need to bother them about something not in their reach; out of their control. Gerald's parents wouldn't make much effort either, especially since no one has talked to or even mumbled a single word to his father. Of course, his brother is around but no one talks to him much since he is away at college trying his best to pursue an education.
"Thanks, Lauren. I guess you aren't half as bad as I thought."
"Trust me, babe. This is just the beginning."
