The space was a small apartment with a small kitchen next to a living room which contained a couch and a small coffee table and a hallway led off to what had to be bedrooms. I watched as Simon threw the mail on a small table by the door which sat against a wall covered in photos. I studied them as he moved into the kitchen and said,"You seriously don't need the knife."
The picture was of a women with dark black hair and blue eyes and next to her was Simon looking exactly the same. I pointed at it and stated,"You look....exactly the same in all these photos. But.....Isabelle she's what in her early forties...so," I looked at him to see he was studying me,"What are you?" I gripped the knife hard.
He shook his head,"You don't have to be afraid of me, I promise I won't hurt you."
I kept the knife level at his chest,"Promises mean nothing. Are you like the thing that attacked me? A....a demon?"
"You know about demons?" He rubbed the back of his neck,"I knew this would happen." He mumbled to himself then he stepped forward making me bump into the table,"Cecily, you shouldn't know about anything like that. Demons, downworlders, Shadowhunters, you need to forget about everything and run. Your mother she tried to keep you safe from the world she came to discover and well I discovered it as well, and nothing good comes from it."
I gave him a questioning look,"What are you talking about? Shadowhunters? What the hell are those?"
He opened his mouth to answer but shut it and that's when I heard a small voice in my head, He's a friend, Cecily. He was my best friend, listen to him. You can trust him, he knew you when you were just a baby. He helped us send you away to where you could be safe.
Just then a image rose up in my mind, something I should've never remember because it was of Simon walking through a forest with a bundle of blankets in his arms. As I watched he walked as the bundle wiggled and I saw that inside was a bright green eyes baby with blond hair. It was me.
I gripped the table as I dropped my knife and gasped,"You took me to the school in London. But......that's not possible! You should've aged become older and....." And died with my parents.
I saw the sadness creep onto his face as he calmly said,"I did bring you to that school under your mothers orders. And you need to promise me that you won't freak out when I tell you as to why I don't age."
I glanced at the photos and saw several of them contained a girl with red hair and bright green eyes. But I dismissed them as I nodded,"Fine, I promise."
He looked me directly in my eyes as I felt myself gasp as the small voice said in my head, Vampire. And long behold he agreed with my thoughts as he said, "I'm a vampire."
Shaking my head I instantly started to mumble,"No this isn't possible."
Or is it, the voice whispered in my head. And then I felt the images spring up in my mind, people fighting with strange marks all over there skin, cat like eyes on a man, Simon with fangs drawn, Isabelle using a whip to decapitate a vampire, and lastly a man towering high holding a sword.
I felt the bile rising in my stomach as I ran past Simon to a small bathroom where I released an unpleasant surprise in the toilet. Feeling myself heave I pulled my hair back and breathed heavily.
This was crazy and yet.....I knew it was true. I heard a knock on the door,"Cecily..."
I opened it from where I sat on the edge of the tub next to the toilet probably looking like I got hit by a truck. Simon stood there looking strangely calm and I could see how he was a vampire now. The pale complexion, the way he moved and walked.
