Dinner with the Devil

Plates clattered nearby and two pale faced boys stood at the grand wooden doors to the dinning hall. I glanced at their faces and could tell they were incredibly handsome, but their cheek bones were jutting out from lack of food. Or blood.

His hand grabbed my arm jerking my attention away from the vampire boys. "You keep your mouth shut in there, and agree to everything I say.....hear me?" His grip was bruising and I glared at him.

"Loud and clear." I hissed with venom making a frown plaster on his face. He forced me to take his arm as he ordered the boys to open the doors.

The sound of laughter filled my ears before I could even take in the scene around me. A long table was laid across the floor like usual but seated around it was older men and few women older and rather young. None were recognizable except two familiar faces, Dylan and Allan. Dylan seemed to have resumed a posture just like his beloved father who sat at the head furthest from them, but Allan refused to look from the empty plate in front of him.

"Ah!" Sebastian stood and looked at us just like everyone was. With a drink in his hand he smiled,"If it isn't our very precious guest, Cecily. Please sit down and enjoy this feast."

His eyes lingered on me as we headed for the far end of the table where I sat at the opposing head. I thought Carter was being a gentle man when he pulled out my chair only to shove it painfully close to the table. I let out a curse under my breathe to have his voce snap in my ear,"Smile or your mother will be punished for your rude behavior."

I plastered a fake smile and glared at him. With a grin from ear to ear, I talked through my teeth,"This good enough for you?"

He smirked,"Just perfect." And he took his seat right next to me.

I rolled my eyes and dropped the smile to look at Allan who sat to my other side. From here you could see scratches racing from under his shaggy blonde hair to his jaw line. It seemed to be scabbing, but looked to split and bleed in other areas. In other words it looked like it freakin' hurt.

I looked to see Carter was chatting with a black haired man next to him and Dylan was busy flirting with a young women about my age who was some what beautiful. I took the chance and nudged Allan's arm.

He flinched away not even glancing at me and I frowned. "Allan?" I leaned closer to him. "Allan, are you alright?"

He didn't move but mumbled,"My father is keeping me here hostage," His head slowly looked at me and I could see his eyes were glassy and red from crying. "Cecily I'm far from okay."

I searched his eyes and put my hand on his on the table to find more rigid scars,"Allan, did he give you that scar?"

That face that once played countless pranks on me and always cracked jokes contorted into an unreadable expression. His mouth opened only for it to be interrupted by someone grumbling his name. Both of us looked to see Carter glaring at us from his seat.

"What the hell are you telling her, Allan?"

His eyes snapped down to look where our hands touched. Allan noticed and jerked away to resume looking down at the plate. Even though Carter obviously knew he had won he continued to taunt.

"Are you telling her your lies again?"He shook his head and leaned forward," We should've thrown you to the demons like those traitors when we had the chance."

Dylan watched his twin brother with cold eyes and only nodded as Carter looked at him. I looked at Carter and hissed,"Don't treat him like that! He's your brother you need to...."

"Can't you see he's baiting you? He only is playing innocent because of the feelings he has toward you."

I clenched my jaw,"He's your brother, so treat him like it." I glanced at Dylan,"Both of you."
