Finding the dinning hall wasn't too bad except for the many times I had found myself at the library. Finally, when I became close enough to the dinning hall Shadowhunters mingled outside the doors and I felt strangely as everyone of them watched me. Inside the doors proved to be almost complete mayhem as most of the teenagers were dressed in dark black gear with those strange marked covering the exposed skin. I had one of those now, but it sure as hell didn't look like theirs.
Pulling my sleeve to hide the disgusting so called rune I spotted where the Shadowhunters walked too and fro the long table. Food littered grand silver platters and I grabbed a plate ignoring the stares from the people around me. With toast, eggs, pancakes, and fruit pilled on my plate I was about to turn and make my way to the library for the stares were getting too curious, however those plans were thrown to a halt as crystal blue eyes gazed down at me.
Like the others, he was dressed in all black leather attire with his arms exposed and showing those eerie markings.
"Didn't think I'd see you here."
His voice was cold and I narrowed my eyes,"Yeah well I was just leaving, so if you'd move...."
"Why are you wearing a turtleneck?"
Because someone tried to kill me.
"I'm cold."
His arm muscles twitched as they folded across his chest,"It's hot outside."
"Yeah well I'm cold still."
I tried to move past him, but he glided to move in my way,"Well them you must be sick."
I groaned as all I wanted to do was eat,"I'm not, Zane. So, get the hell out of my way."
I shoved past him only to have him grip the wrist that wasn't marked,"Where are you going?"
Stares were fascinated on us now, and I hissed at him,"No where that concerns you."
"I think it does."
"Yeah well you thought wrong so just leave me the hell alone." Pulling from his grip I hurried from the room as I raced with my food to the library. It was vacant except for the many books that had made homes within the selves.
Shutting the door firmly behind me, I began to eat my food at the table covered with books open to certain pages. Demon Poison, Vampires, Downworlders, Warlocks, Fighting techniques.....
I slowly stopped chewing the golden pancakes as I pulled the musty old book close to see roughly sketched people using a bow staff to swirl it over their heads to slay a demon.
Now this is interesting. I wonder....
Standing up I glided over to a stand holding long poles with spikes attached to the top clearly lethal. Slowly at first I handled the staff going picture by picture proving some difficulty. After getting stabbed in the foot several times and making beads of sweat drip down my face, I peeled off my sweater exposing the black tank top I wore underneath along with the bruises had gotten darker an the rune on my arm now how lacy white veins running up and down my entire arm.
Deciding I'd like to keep my breakfast down I took the staff again as my feet started to part themselves evenly. I was facing the statue of that horrid angel.
"Not so tough, anymore are we?" I smirked as I moved slowly but gracefully toward the statue loosing myself as I did so. Everything slipped away as I closed my eyes seeing Madame Pricker when I was a child, all those bullies like Veronica, all those people who cast me aside because I was weird, and that man who apparently was my uncle, they all came in a rush giving me every detail of their face. I am not an outcast anymore. I will not be ignored any longer because I am Cecily!
