The harsh motion came to strike across my cheek making my eyes open to a harsh light. Quickly, I took in my surroundings to see the all too familiar sights of the hell hole I had grown up in. The dinning hall was almost like the Institute in New York.
"Finally!" My eyes came to rest on what looked like a demon only in its evilest form, Victoria. "Decided to wake up, my hand was getting tired."
My eyes narrowed,"Victoria? What the hell are you doing...."
She grabbed a chair from a nearby table, just like the one I had been tied down too, and sat down in front of me. "I'm guarding the precious treasure."
You're a precious treasure to be found. My mother. "Why in hell am I so precious?"
She shrugged,"Who knows. Its one of the reason why I've always hated you so much." She leaned forward grabbing my arms,"The hidden secret inside you that not even yourself knows. The mystery behind your life and name."
I stared her back down,"There's no mystery, Victoria....I'm an orphan just like you always were. My name is my great something grandmothers, you want to call that mystery?"
She shoved away from me and glared down at me. In a quick motion she started toward the doors and only opened it too an ajar. "Tell Sebastian she's awake."
"Oh now I see." I leaned back in the chair,"You're like what, his cult?"
"Cult, order, followers, whatever you'd care to call it." She flounced back over to her chair.
"And what the whole school has been in on this, cult?"
"Of course, you idiot! Most of them at least, one of them being that little bitch Andrea."
"Where is she?"
"In the cellular, where else!"
The cellular, of coarse! The only place I've been too by Madame Pricker. Being down there can drive even the sane to insanity.
"You know I always thought maybe he had gotten it wrong."
I looked at Victoria and really looked at her. Those eyes told the story of a sad abandon little girl sent to the school just like....like myself.
"I thought maybe...just maybe, I was that treasure that he needed. I guess it was only a dream of a stupid little girl."
I looked around the stuffy room. "How old were you?"
"What?"
I gazed into her broken face,"How old were you when my....when Sebastian came to you?"
She played with her leather vest,"Only seven..." A small smile broke on her face,"He came in the night, and rounded us all up in here. Told us just how special we all were and how he needed us all. And I don't know...I felt he was talking directly to me. That I was just what he needed, like a father needed a daughter and a daughter needed...." She paused as her words were choked back with tears. Her chest rose and fell heavily, as she was trying to compose herself.
The door opened wide as three figures strolled into the room. Stepping into the dim light, their faces became clear.
Veronica stood straight and stepped to the side giving Carter, Sebastian, and Madame Pricker perfect views of me. Their eyes burned holes into me and until Sebastian finally spoke up, did I realize I had been holding my breathe.
