"She dumped the whole pie on him!" The girl squealed out my bedroom door.

"Yeah well Tyler creeps on all of us, he deserved it." Another girl answered with a bored tone.

"Yeah, but people are saying she and Zane you know.....have a thing."

"And you believe that?"

"I don't know, maybe."

"Well, I heard Zane and Stephanie talking last night at like three in the mourning."

"Where did you hear that? Do you think there rekindling that friendship?"

"They were talking at her bedroom door in the hallway and we both know it was more then a friendship, Bridget."

"Yeah but do you think they'll get back together?"

"I guess we'll have to find out. Joann!" There voices faded down the hallway and I turned back to the window. The sun was rising over head making the skyscrapers glisten like diamonds. My Tyler pieing has been the talk of the Institute and various whispers have pasted by my door.

"She just dumped it on him."

"Tyler so deserved it."

"She was the one in the sexy shorts."

I didn't want the attention, I just wanted to understand what had happened in my dream. He was actually there, but how? He said something about magic fueling his mind. So, where the hell was he and what was he doing go his mother?

The questions just kept piling on one another into an endless heap. I had thought several times of going to my father, but what good would that do? He would only make it all worse. So, who was left to ask? Isabelle, I didn't know her all too well. Zane, he was pissed about last night and was obviously occupied now with this Stephanie girl. So, who else?

It slammed into my brain making me snap to attention. The only person who could probably explain all this madness.

I found a pair of regular jeans that I tucked into my combat boots and found a white long sleeved shirt that I covered with a black jacket lined with small knives carved with runes like those in the library. I found some make up left probably by Isabelle and masked my bruises until they were almost invisible.

Rushing down the stairs I got glances thrown my way that I ignored. I just needed to get out of here. The door was insight and my hands grazed the wood when a voice asked,"Cecily? Where are you going?"

It was my father with a stern looking Isabelle. "I was just..."

"Running away again?"

"No! I was just going to a cool coffee shop down the block."

"We have coffee here." Isabelle chimed in. Obviously she was pissed about something.

"Not very good coffee."

"Cecily, why are you really going out?"

"I just told you I want some coffee."

Isabelle interrupted again,"If that is true, why should we let you go? You didn't come back last night until midnight, what makes us think we can trust you again?"

"Because, we got lost. I can't see in the dark you know, and I'm still new to the city."

"Yes but that's why Zane went with you."

"Yeah, so why aren't you interrogating him? I didn't know what time it was like I said I'm still new here."

"We can't find him." So that's why she's pissed off.
