Chapter 31
•Niall•
As winter rolled on and spring came about, Harry and I saw each other less and less. I imagined he was spending all his free time with Louis, which I really had no problem with. He was happy, and that was good.
My bully problem had finally been solved, so I wasn't afraid to walk around school myself for once. Everything was great. My life only seemed to have one minor problem.
I still had that huge crush on Liam.
I knew they would be gone and touring soon, so I needed to get rid of it. It wasn't as if Liam and I hung out anymore, though. Ever since that one hang out when he ditched me, things had gone south. And I still didn't even know why he ditched me!
Does Liam just not enjoy hanging out with me? If he did, he should have just said something. I would have called his phone and demanded an explanation, if it wasn't for one problem.
He blocked my number.
Who does that? He honestly could have just said he didn't want to hang out with me anymore, instead of going and breaking my heart. I thought he liked me, honestly. I thought he enjoyed my company.
I guess Liam Payne is a liar.

It's been months since I've last talked to Niall, and I don't know if I should be happy or sad about that.
On the plus side, Danielle and I are doing great. The public is convinced that we're dating and in love, and that's our job well done.
But that doesn't mean I don't still want to talk to Niall. I do, I really do. But ever since I forgot to show up to our date, forgot to call, forgot to text, I just couldn't bring myself to do it anymore. I wanted to, but I couldn't.
What's wrong with me?
"I dunno, Li. What is wrong with you? Things have gone a bit sour ever since you stopped talking to that blonde, what was his name? Neil? Ever since you stopped talking to him, you've been a bit moodier. A bit meaner. Snappier. And don't say I'm the only one to notice; the fans and even Louis has noticed as well," I didn't notice I was speaking aloud until Zayn began his speech.
Had even Louis noticed? He had been off in his little love world, always talking and texting Harry. Louis had it great, and he knew it too.
"You really need to decide, mate. If you want back in his life or not, I mean," Louis pipped up. "Harry says he hasn't been the greatest, though he hasn't seen him much."
That's when I began worrying. I knew that Harry was almost always with Niall; when he wasn't with Louis, that is. But for Harry to say that Niall was distancing himself was bad. Very bad.

I giggled at the text Louis had just sent me. It really wasn't much, just a bunch of x's. It was sweet he cared. I replied as quickly as possible and placed my phone down.
That was a bad idea.
My thoughts quickly drifted to Niall, as if a breeze had just blown them to that special part of my brain that was specially reserved for him these days. I had seen him at school, sure. But I was always so busy with Louis that I could never hang out with Niall. I knew that once Louis went on tour, I could hang out with Niall more, but that wouldn't be for a few more weeks at least.
Niall had been looking skinnier and skinnier these days. He wore a lot more bracelets on his wrists, as well. I knew what that meant, but it was best I stay out of it. I couldn't push Niall to fix himself; there was only one person who could, and he had disappeared long ago.
I was worried about my friend, and I didn't know how to fix things. I couldn't, but Liam could.
But it doesn't look like Liam is coming back anytime soon.
