“What if I gave you permission? What would you do?”
“I would.”
“Would it hurt?”
“No, it wouldn’t hurt. It would feel amazing for you as well as for me because we are mates.”
“Would it help you?”
“Immensely. I would become stronger, faster, better in every way. And as long as I continued to feed from you, I would remain in that state.”
“How often would you need to feed?”
“Every two days.”
“Wouldn’t that kill me? That much blood being taken?”
“No because as long as you were ingesting my saliva, which before you get grossed out you can do so via kissing, you will produce more blood than you need.”
“Wouldn’t that cause harm too, having too much blood?”
“I would be taking the excess. As long as I continued to feed from you, you would be perfectly healthy.” Vlad gave me a look I couldn’t place. “Why do you ask such questions, my love?”
Why was I asking all these questions? Could I possibly be considering becoming Vlads walking blood donor? I wanted to help in any way I could and if consuming my blood would help him then why shouldn’t I give it to him. It’s not like it was going to hurt me. Vlad said so himself it would feel amazing. Do I want to be the one to make Vlad better? Would I want someone else to? I knew the answer to that; no, I do not want anyone else to be the cause of Vlad being better. I wanted to be the one.
“I’ll do it.” I finally said after two minutes of Vlad staring at me with questioning eyes. “I’ll let you feed from me. Not only will you not have to leave to hunt, but you will be better in every way like you said. I want to help. I want this.”
“You’re sure?”
“Positive.”

It’s been nearly three months since I told Vlad he could start feeding solely from me. At first I didn’t notice the effect of the saliva. I mean, I never felt like I was missing a chunk of my blood volume but I also never felt like I had too much either. Well until the week when Vlad went away on war business. He said he couldn’t wait any longer for the fae to decide. He needed them now; if they weren’t going to help then they had to be dealt with. I didn’t need to ask what that meant. I knew that if they didn’t side with us then they would be considered the enemy and treated as such. For their sake I hope they choose to side with us. I’ve never seen the dungeon before, but I’ve also never seen anyone come back up once they’ve been taken down there either.
With Vlad not drinking the excess blood by body was making I began to feel different. I had a permanent blush on my cheeks and I could feel the excess fluid in my body. I looked fuller. To top it all off, all the extra blood was making me sick. Vlad was due back tomorrow with the fae king but I wasn’t sure I could last that long. Could this kill me? Vlad said I was immortal, but having too much blood can’t be good for my systems. I know it’s most likely going to cause harm of some sort, I just don’t know the extent of it. Will I just be tired for a while and feel like I have the flu or would I simply die? Even immortals must have some random thing that is crazy rare but proves to be fatal. Maybe for me it’s too much blood. Oh what a way to die.
The only positive thing to come of this week, with Vlad being gone and all, is finding out what Vlad meant by seeing the halo and wings of angels. Fallen or not. Though the only ones I’ve seen so far are fallen, probably the reason they are here. Or their fallen because they’re here. Maybe even both, either option is very much a possible explanation. I’ve only met two, Anna-Leigh and Anna-Beth, twins. Though you wouldn’t know they were twins until they told you, they look nothing alike. Anna-Leigh has dark hair and bright blue eyes and Anna-Beth has blond hair and green eyes. Day and night, water and earth. I’ll tell you though, angel wings are beautiful. They’re huge and iridescent.
“How is she?” I heard Vlad ask someone in the room next to the library.
“Not good, my lord she has too much blood running through her system. It’s only a matter of time before her body can’t handle it and she goes into a coma.” Someone answered him.
“Why didn’t anyone do something about it? Why has it been allowed to progress to this state?” Vlad demanded.
“We weren’t sure you would approve of any one apart from yourself feeding from her, my lord.”
“There are other ways of removing blood from her system.” Vlad snapped. “Be sure and utilize them next time I am gone for any length of time.”
“Certainly, my lord. She is in the library.”
I could hear footsteps fading, presumably from the man walking away from where I was. Then I heard footsteps coming towards me. They had to belong to Vlad. I didn’t know just how much I missed him until that moment. I ran to him and wrapped my arms around his waist securing my hands behind his back. He returned the gesture.
“I’ve missed you.” I mumbled into his chest.
“As I have you.” Vlad held me at arm’s length giving me a once over. “Come, we must rid your body of the extra blood before it causes you harm.”
With that, Vlad and I were walking towards our room.
