The last two months have been arguably the best two months of my life. The wedding ceremony was stunning. Everything was beyond perfect; I couldn’t have done it better if I had done it myself. I couldn’t have dreamed it better if I had tried.
“Now that the wedding is over, what’s next?”
“Now, we perform the Nephilim Oath then tonight we finish the Blood Rights.”
The Nephilim Oath was very similar to our wedding vows…vowing to cherish one another, to protect each other. Then with a blood red ribbon our hands were tied and Poseidon said something in an ancient language and the ribbon disappeared. Vlad said it is now an invisible tether biding us together.
The Blood Rights were only slightly more entertaining. I use the word slightly as a huge understatement. Vlad had our bed chambers prepared, there were blood red silk sheets and orchids placed around the room. He told me that the pain would only be there for a moment before it would be replaced with pleasure. He wasn’t lying. First he drank from me; the pain only lasted as long as a breath when his fangs pierced my neck. Then he bit his wrist and I drank from him. His blood was sweet as wine, if I could only drink one thing for the rest of my life, it would be his blood. That must be the vampire in me talking because that is definitely not a normal thought for me.
“Vlad, I forgot to ask, but why was it Poseidon who saw over the Nephilim Oath Ceremony?” I asked one morning while we were both lying in bed. It was Wednesday and we had just woken up. Vlad looked at me for a moment before answering.
“Because he is you grandfather, I thought you knew.”
“My grandfather?”
“Yes, he is your mother’s father. Making him your grandfather.”
