“Callaghan! What did you do to her?!”

I tried so hard to let him know I was still alive, barely but still alive. But all I could manage to do was move my head to face him.

“She’s lost a lot of blood and has multiple broken bones, sir. I did the best I could.” I heard Draco tell him. “We have to change her. We have to try. She’ll die otherwise.”

With a lightning fast blow, Diavol was on the ground unconscious. Tired, so tired if only I could just sleep for a while. I would be alright if I could just sleep for a while. All would be fine. Just sleep.

“We have to get her back to the house. I’ll take Diavol, you take her.” Draco said. “Oh and sir, she wanted me to tell you she is mad at you, but she still loves you.” I heard him chuckle.

Pain, immense pain all over. My entire body hurts, worse than it did while I was getting beaten. It’s like my body had been run over by a semi and then set on fire. Just when I didn’t think I would be able to survive any more of the pain, it all stopped.

I opened my eyes slowly, taking in my surroundings. I was in a room, which under further inspection I realized it was in fact Vladimir and my room. The bed was covered in what appeared to be blood red silk sheets and a duvet that was snow white. The contrast was beautiful. The sun blocking curtains were drawn tightly shut. Something that made very little sense to me since Vladimir was nowhere to be seen. I slowly got out of bed, unsure if I would be able to support my body weight. I walked over to the curtains and found the seam; I began to open them when I heard Vladimir behind me.

“I wouldn’t do that if I were you.” I turned around expecting him to be right behind me when in fact he was on the far side of the room away from me.

“It’s mean to sneak up behind someone then flee to the other side of the room, Vladimir.”

“Vladimir? You must be angrier than I thought.” Vladimir spoke. “I however have not moved from this spot since I walked in. It’s you who have changed my dear Callaghan.”

“You don’t mean…”I let the sentence hang in the air. It wasn’t even possible for me to change, was it?

“Yes, that is exactly what I mean. We didn’t think it was possible but you were dying right before my eyes, I had to try something. It was the only thing that would save your life, I am truly sorry you didn’t have any say in the matter.”

“You mean you turned me?”

“Yes. You were moments from death. It was my only choice.”

“You could have let me die. You selfish prick.”

“And live for eternity without you? I couldn’t fathom the thought, Callaghan I love you more than immortality. The weeks I spent searching for you were the hardest of my life. I cannot live without you. I will not live without you. So yes, I am selfish but if it means keeping you safe and alive then so be it.”
