Only The Beginning

With nothing else to do I sat down and took the remote from the footrest to turn the tele on. Flipping through the channels I came across Supernatural. I laughed, if they only knew just how accurate it was. I placed the remote on the footrest and got comfy. No sense in staying uncomfortable, if I was stuck waiting for Vlad to come rescue me.  I was about halfway through my second episode when one of the two men came into the room. It wasn’t the one who had ever so nicely put me here.

“Look, I’m not supposed to talk to you but I thought I would give you some advice. Don’t try to escape, there are Ghouls and demons surrounding this place they will kill you.” With that he placed the tray full of food on the top of the dresser and walked out, shutting the door but not locking it. I waited for a few minutes before getting up and looking outside. He wasn’t lying, there were more Ghouls and demons than I could count.

“No need to lock the door when they know no one is stupid enough to try to run with that waiting outside the doors.” I said to myself. I walked from the window to the dresser. There was a plate with what appeared to be a very rare steak, some sweet potato fries and a fruit salad made with some exotic looking fruits. There was also a glass of water and soda of some type.

I tasted the soda first finding out that it was Coke, thankfully I can’t stand Pepsi. I picked up the knife and fork and began eating the steak. They must think I’m a vampire. Why else would they give me such a rare steak? It wasn’t that bad and the fries were amazing. Once I had finished the steak and fries I picked up the large bowl that the fruit salad was in and went back to the chair.

I heard the door open once more so I put the bowl down on the table by the chair and got up. It was the same guy who had put me in the room to begin with. He didn’t look like he was in much better of a mood now. He came towards me and I took a step back. In a flash he grabbed me and took me from the room. When he stopped I realized we were in what appeared to be a dungeon.  He made quick work of restraining me. My hands were put in chains hanging from the ceiling and my ankles were put in chains that were attached to the floor.

“Where is the Cup?”

“What cup?” I questioned.

“The Cup.” Is this guy on drugs.

“In the kitchen with all the other cups.” Geese, is he slow?

“Not a cup you dumb bitch, The Cup!” He yelled at me and before I could process what was going on raised his hand and hit me across the face.

“I don’t know what the hell you’re talking about.” Again he hit me, this time harder.

“I know you do. Vlad would only have told you, you’re the only one he could truly trust. Now tell me where it is.” This time he didn’t yell, he got close to my face and spoke evenly and quietly. I wish he would have just yelled.

“I. Don’t. Know.” I annunciated each work and spoke very slowly. This must have set him off because he began hitting me hard over and over, grabbing me tightly and shaking me. Just before I lost conciseness, I saw him leave and the other one come in.

I awoke back in the room I had been put in when I first got to the house. I was lying on the bed and beside me was a first aid kit.  I vaguely remembered that the second man had been the one to bring me back to the room and come to the conclusion that it was also he who had left the first aid kit for me. I got up and every part of my body was sore. I slowly made my way to the bathroom, first aid kit in my hand. I turned the light on and took a look at myself in the mirror. My lip had multiple cuts, I had a cut above my right eye and below my left, my cheeks were bruised, there were bruises on my arms in the shape of fingers. My ribs were also bruised and there were a few cuts scattered along my side. The must have come from the ring he was wearing. As bad as I looked, I felt ten times worse.

I found a washcloth on the sink; I wetted it and began washing the blood off my face and side. Once I had sufficiently cleaned myself up, I but a butterfly closure over each of the cuts on my face and side with the hope that it would help keep them together so they could heal faster. I took a couple Aleve for the pain and went back to the room. I noticed that the fruit was still where I had left it and in my absence a small fridge was placed in the room. I picked the fruit up and began eating it. I took a second to see if there was anything in the fridge, there was some soda, bottled water and various fruits cut up and put into Tupperware. I too this as a sign they were long from finished with me, tonight was only the beginning. And that single thought alone, made me shiver with fear.
