Everything was so much different. I could see the dust particles in the air. I never knew just how much dust was actually in the air, and now that I know I think I could have went my entire life without knowing that little fun (or not so fun) fact. Also as I noticed, I didn’t need to breathe. Like at all. It’s been at least ten minutes since I woke up so a human would need to breathe, but I guess I’m even less human that I was to begin with thanks to Vlad. I’m really not all that mad at him at least not nearly as mad as he thinks I am. I have to admit, for a while I’m not going to do anything to make him think otherwise. I was mad for about three whole minutes then I remembered that he only did it because he loves me and I wanted to change anyways. I was upset when he told me there might not be any way to change me.

“Do I have to drink blood?” That is the only thing I am worried about. The thought of having to drink blood to survive makes me nauseous.

“Only once will you have to, when we perform Blood Rights. After that you can choose to drink it or not. Vampires can, contrary to popular belief, live off of human food.”

“What are Blood Rights?” There are so many things I need to know, things I should have known before I was changed. Damn that man for almost killing me.

“Blood Rights are the vampire equivalent of the human marriage.” Vlad began. “Part one is very similar to a wedding, you wear a white dress and I wear a tux, people attend the ceremony, and a vampire priest performs the ceremony. The second part is just between the two of us in our privet quarters.  This is where we will take each other’s blood simultaneously. Once both parts are complete, we will have the Blood Rights of the other. Or as humans call it we will be married.”

“That’s the vampire version, what about the Nephilim version of marriage?” I questioned him.

“Nephilim are bound by an oath. The oath they take, binds them they cannot break it or they will parish. They must promise to protect the other no matter the personal harm that may come. The oath also connects the Nephilim, they become connect through thought and feeling. What one feels the other can feel, what one thinks the other can hear. Nephilim oaths are the strongest bond known to the supernatural.”

“Would you be willing to have a Nephilim type marriage as well as the Blood Rights?” Asking Vlad this was just like asking him just how much he did love me. Would he be willing to perform an unbreakable bond between us? Would he be willing to lose all sense of privacy with me?

“If it is something that you want, then I would be more than willing.” Well, I can honestly say I didn’t see that one coming. No fight at all? “There is nothing I want more in this world than to be a close as possible to you. Both humanly and supernaturally. If you’ll agree I would also like to marry you.”

“Are you—“ Vlad knelt before me and pulled a box from him pocket.

“Callaghan Noelle Costello, will you do me the honor of becoming my wife?”
