Normally getting the feeling you're being watched is creepy. Getting the feeling while walking alone down a dark alley because you've gotten lost, well that scare the pants off you scary.  Adding on the fact that you are indeed a small female in a foreign country and you might just as well call Hollywood and have them start making a horror film.

I wouldn't even be here if my roommate didn't insist on a post break-up vacation. Post break-up for me, vacation for her. The bonding and duo-vacation lasted about two days before she was off with some man she met at a pub, leaving me to fend for myself in Romania. Where I speak less than absolutely none of the language and have the directional skills of a baby in the womb. Thank you Sarahphine.

Is it just me or did that shadow move? No that is definitely not just me, it moved. I am going to die. I am twenty years old and I am going to die.

My eyes couldn’t process what was happing, everything was a blur then suddenly there was something blocking my vision. A blindfold, tied tightly around my head. What little I was able to see in the dark was now gone.  Whoever my attacker was they were taking no chances. Not even a second after the blindfold was secured; my hands were being tied behind my back with what felt like rope. Rough rope, the kind you used as a kid to make tire swings or play tug-o-war. My attacker tied it tightly so I could not move, so tightly it was sure to leave a mark.

“Take whatever you want. I only have a few American dollars in my pocket.” I spoke as though I was brave when truth be told, I was feeling anything but at the moment.

“You’re worth more than a few American dollars, dearie. I’m not stupid, I know who you are. Tepes will do anything to get you back safely.”

“I don’t know what you’re talking about. I don’t know anyone named Tepes. If you just tell me what you want  maybe I can help you get it.” I tried to reason with him yet again.  I should have taken that self-defense class with Sarahphine and Ivy last winter.

“Send word to Tepes, let him know we have his most prized possession. His mate.”

It’s been days. Hell, it could be weeks I don’t know. I’ve been stuck in a damp, cold, and dark dungeon since creepy attacker man, as I’ve come to call him, brought me back to his house –er place of residence.  He’s been feeding me stale bread and water, just enough to keep me alive but not enough to help with the cold I’m getting from being down here. The thread-bare blanket does little to shield me from the cold.

“Surely by now, you’ve realized that this Tepes guy doesn’t care what happens to me.” I rasp out when creepy attacker man comes down to bring me my daily meal. “You should just let me go. I won’t press charges or even tell anyone. Just let me go.”

“No can do, dearie. Tepes does care about what happens to you, quite a lot actually. So much he’s on his way back now to rescue you. Little does he know once he’s here, we’re going to kill him. His guard will be down with you around. So thank you for making this easier.” He turned and walked away laughing.  I swear his eyes were glowing red. But being the rational person I am, I put it down to the fact that I’m cold, sick and hungry.

I must have fallen asleep because I awoke to loud voices. From what I could make out it was creepy attacker man and this mysterious Tepes guy.

“You’ll let her go or else.”

“That’s not how it works Tepes. See we have something you want and you have something we want. Let’s make a trade.”

“No. You’re going to give her to me and if you don’t I’ll kill each and every one of you. Slowly.”

“Very well, she’s just through those doors.”

“No!” I scream out. “It’s a trap, they want you to come to me. Don’t do it!” I hope I was loud enough for the guy to hear. It’s bad enough I’m suck here because of the crazy man, no need for both of us to suffer.

“A trap? You really though a trap would work on me? Tisk tisk, how very little you know. But that will soon change.”

There were a few seconds of eerie quite before the sound of a bunch of feet and some grunts followed by yelling that was soon muffled. And last, a single pair of footsteps coming towards me. With the last ounce of strength I had left I looked up to see what would have been the most beautiful face in the world if it weren’t for the glowing red eyes.

Exhausted I could not open my eyes or move my body. I felt someone wrap me in their arms and I prayed it was the Tepes guy and not creepy attacker man. When I subsequently felt a hand caress my face I knew it was the first.

“He will pay with his life for what he has done to you, my dragoste.”
