Celia's POV

I woke up and turned the news on to see that Louis was in the hospital. I decided to go check on him, to make sure he was ok, and left home. I started to walk toward the hospital.

Unfortunately, Jake, Eleanor's ex-boyfriend, cut me off.

I said as polite as I could manage, "Can you please move outta my way?"

"Nah. What's more likely to happen is you'll come with me."

"You wish," I sassed.

"You will come with me. Or else." He pulled out a gun.

I sighed. "Fine."

Jake smiled, and I had a bad feeling about this. I resignedly followed him to an abandoned spot.

Jake said, "And now, we wait."

"For what?" I asked curiously.

"Louis."

Louis' POV

I woke up in the morning. My doctor turned to me.

He asked, "How are you feeling?"

"Good, actually."

"Great!" my doctor replied with enthusiasm, causing me to smile a little. "You can leave in an hour."

I was leaving the hospital on crutches when I got a text. From Celia. Which was strange because I didn't remember giving her my number. I assumed that I forgot that I gave it to her and opened it. It read:

Celia: can u meet me here?

There was an address attached with it. What a strange text. I decided to do what she asked.

Right as I got there, I saw a man with brown hair and blue eyes point a gun at Celia, who faced me.

She mouthed, 'It's a trap" right before the man shot her in her stomach.

She fell down, bleeding. I faced the man, who grinned.

"Why? Why the fuck did you do that?" I asked tensely.

"To torture you, Louis."

"How do you know my name?"

"Devin."

I froze. "You're with him?"

He shrugged and walked away callously. I looked at Celia who was now surrounded in a puddle of blood.

I sighed softly, before calling for an ambulance.

When they finally got here with a few police cars, paramedics did first aid and then loaded her onto a stretcher.

I grabbed one of their arms before they could take her away. "Let me go with her. Please."

He asked, "You're not gonna give up unless we agree?"

I nodded. They helped me get in. And then, they loaded her in with me. I couldn't bear to look at her, so I stared at my lap the whole time.

When we finally arrived, the paramedics rushed her into ICU, so I went to the waiting area and sat down. A police officer approached me. I recognized him from before I left with the ambulance.

He sat down beside me. "What happened? Do you know?"

I sighed. "Some guy shot her. 'To torture me' or whatever. I never met the guy before, so I don't know why he'd... want to do that." My voice cracked on the word, 'want'.

"What's her name? And who is she to you?"

"Celia Snow. She's a good friend of mine." And I'm in love with her.

"Well, you don't have to worry about it anymore. We're going to make sure he doesn't get away with it. Can you come into the precinct tomorrow to give our sketch artist a description of the man?"

I nodded. "Of course. Thank you."

What would happen if she died? I don't think I could live without her. Even though we only met a few days ago. If I lose her...I'd rather die with her than live without her. It's my fault she could die. He hurt her to torment me.

I felt a tear slide down my face and wiped it away.

Finally, Celia's doctor came out and approached me. "She's stabilized."

I felt myself sigh in relief. "Can I see her?"

"She hasn't woken up yet, but yeah, if that's what you wish."

I smiled. He brought me to Celia's room, and I went in. She was resting peacefully, looking as beautiful as ever. I sat down on her bedside, leaned my crutches on the wall, and stroked her hair as the doctor excused himself off to the side.

I whispered softly, "I love you, Celia."

She stirred as if hearing me. Her eyes fluttered open, like a butterfly's wings, revealing her beautiful blue eyes.

She whispered softly, "Same." I knew she heard me.

I smiled. She smiled her flawless smile back. I wanted to kiss her, but what if she didn't want me to?

I guess she must've because she pulled me into a kiss. I returned the kiss, enjoying the feel of her soft lips so much. It was better than I thought it would be. We soon pulled away.

Celia said, "That was amazing," she sounded breathless.

And I had to agree. "Yeah."

"Do you wanna get together?" she asked sweetly.

I wasn't sure if I was worthy, but, even still, I nodded.

She smiled. "Yay."

I chuckled and she joined in with her lovely laugh.
