" END THIS NOW!" Lillith relieved herself from Atticus and slashed out with her nails, scoring #48 in the face, hard, with relish.  Atticus lunged towards Lillith, and with all the power in her body she flung him across the ground, and he landed with a sharp, " Oomf."

Lillith twisted, snatched the knife from #48's grasp, and held it at Atticus's throat, tears of rage forming her eyes. " How could you!!" she shrieked. " I LOVED YOU!!!!"

Atticus spit blood onto the ground, and smiled malevolently. " Oh Lillith, " he purred. " You are so small in that beautiful mind of yours.

" Do you know that I was created from  your MIND? To protect you, to be your.......

puppet.

"But look who the puppet is now. I never had a family that abandoned me. You, apparently did, and now the whole world despises you. I can't even stand to look without you without disgust." Atticus tisked under his breath slowly. " Shame.

" But I'm guessing you must kill me, you would regret it if you didn't. " He stared into her eyes, his own no longer trusting anymore.

She hesitated, then raised the sword, rage on her face. ' Come on Lillith, ' she thought. ' Do it. '

Just as she about struck, memories flashed through her mind. Memories of happiness, joy, no care in the world. Visions of holding hands with Atticus, smiling, laughing.

She lowered the knife and covered her face, sobbing.  After a moment she lifted her head. " Leave," she whispered.

" Leave with your partner and never come back. Go away. You are a burden to me. GO."

A flash of defiance pierced Atticus's eyes. He touched her face. " I did love you. "

Then he turned, grabbed #48, and sped into the forest without looking back.

While Lillith fell to her knees, the terror around her sinking in like  stone.
