 Lillith's pov

I didn't know what do think or say when I looked into his once trusting eyes. All emotions piled on me at once. Fear, rage, sadness, disappointment,

Everything.
Because once you have put your trust into somebody you've known for years and one day it's all snatched away,

You don't know what to do. It's just you and your thoughts spiraling in a world of confusion. Nothing feels right.

But somehow you still manage to stay strong. And that's the best thing about people.

I narrowed my eyes. " What are you doing here? Get out.

Now. "

Attitcus sighed and stood. He leaned in on me. " Why must you be so angry?"

" Because I'm done. "

" Done with?"

" Done with human beings. Done with people always out for me. I'm especially done with idiots like you. "

" Well, what are you going to do?"

" Break out. "

He snickered. " Kinda hard when you're chained up. " He cackled then gripped my arm.

" Let GO."

" Lillith listen. Tomorrow they're going to make you stand before the court-"

" The court?"

" Yes. And they are going to decide what to do with you. " He released his iron grip and leaned back, expecting me to rage.

I didn't. All I could do was laugh.

" And why should you care ?"

" I don't. I am planning to kill you after all. "

" With what army?"

" Only the strongest. Because whether you like it or not, only the strongest will survive."

It was my turn to snicker. " Then you're not going to last long. Now go away before I regain my strength and burn you on the spot. "

He walked to the door, his hand on the handle. " Just be ready. "

Atticus left without a trace, nothing,

except for the rage that boiled inside me.

And grew,

And grew,

And grew.
