His body was sore. He should have been prepared for the hunger. He never let himself get too hungry. He sat there for a moment trying to think of what he was doing and how he would explain what he was to these people. They wouldn't let him near the babies again. Not even the girl who seemed to be going down hill. Then it hit him. She was like him. A baby vampire who needed blood for nutrients. She stood carefully and grabbed a bag of blood with the mother's name on it. He walked into the room. Jane was there and eyed the blood in his hand.
"In sure you know what I am but hear me out." he began, "Hera is a vampire too. A baby one. That's why she isn't gaining weight. She isn't getting the nutrition she needs from the formula or breast milk she's been given. She needs blood. With blood she should gain weight and be as healthy as her brothers."
Jane just looked at him for a moment before rushing into action. She prepared the baby's IV and took the blood from him. She hooked it up and stood by texting. He was nervous.
"Everyone here, except for most of the children and Mary and I are all vampires. You're safe here." She explained.
He sighed in relief. He moved over to keep an eye on her vitals. Her pulse began rising, blood pressure began to stabilize and her color was returning. He smiled. He figured it out. He waited until the blood was gone before checking her vitals again. He hoped that this improvement was a permanent one. He let Jane check on the other boy and he kept a log on her vitals.
"Every two hours vital check and try a bottle of formula. We will have to see how long this lasts for." He told Jane.

Nalla was on her way to seeing the babies when Jane came out of their room all smiles. That was a good sign. She hoped that the babies were doing well. Mary and Rhage had been asleep when she came down. Her mother was on baby duty while they slept. She hadn't seen much of Hunter so she wanted to bump into him. When he came out all happy she knew it was a good sign.
"Good day for the babies?" She asked as she approached him.
"Very." he said, "Hera is gaining weight and Orion is right there with her. Her vitals are stable and she seems to be better. Now that we solved her issue."
"Her issue?" Nalla asked him.
" She is a born vampire. Meaning she needs blood just like you and me. Only she was given Mary's blood. It should wear off soon and we will try someone else's blood. Rhage possibly. But for now we are looking forward to keeping her healthy. Have you seen Mary and Rhage?" Jane asked coming up to them.
" They were asleep when I came down. I can have my mother wake them." Nalla replied.
"No no it's not necessary right now. We have a pint or two of Rhages blood. Just when they wake again have them come down." Hunter informed her.
"Of... Of course." She stammered. "I... I would like to see them. Could you show me?"
She noted the surprise on his face. He nodded and turned to head back into the room. Upon entering the room it felt more peaceful. It felt good to be there. She saw Orion and smiled. He was healthy. But seeing Hera was different. The chance just mere hours made all the difference. She had in fact gained weight and her color looked good. Her eyes matched her father's. A perfect blue. Nalla wanted to hold her.
" You can pick her up. She's healthy now." She heard Hunter say.
"I.. I dont want to hurt her." She said softly.
She felt him come up behind her. He grabbed her hands and helped her pick up Hera. Once she had her securely he let go and she smiled down at the child in her arms. She liked the feeling this child gave her. She held her for a few minutes before putting her down. She didn't want to trigger her needing. That baby felt way to comfortable in her arms. She felt her body changing and slowly backed out of the room.
